Dacia 101 is Emperor Trajan's first campaign against the Dacians, the empire's last sedentary neighbors. The Romans must crush seize their foes and take their cities. The Dacians player must hold his strongholds, while at the same time waging war within the Roman lands to force them to negotiate.
Dacia 101 is played in 17 rounds, each representing two months, between March 101 and December 103.
- The Roman armies led by Emperor Trajan are numerous and well-equipped, and their aim is to seize fortresses and the opposing capital, and if possible, to bring down the Dacian king, Decebalus.
- The Dacians must hold their positions in the Carpathians, rally Sarmatian and Germanic support, and launch raids across the Danube, in order to deplete the enemy's morale and organize a status quo.
Event cards will renew the games through a set of varied diplomatic, military, political or economic fluctuations.
