Gandamak 1842 is a simulation of the 'First Anglo-Afghan War', a failed attempt by the British Empire to vassalize Afghanistan.
The British must capture Kabul, setup their puppet ruler there and maintain themselves in the country.
The Afghan must repulse the invaders, isolating their garrisons and pushing the tribes to revolt. The rough terrain, weather and hard supply will play a crucial role.
Gandamak 1842 is a campaing lasting 16 turns each representing about a quarter January 1839 and December, 1842. It opposes the British East India Company and the Afghan tribes.
- The British army has the best troops and most numerous ones at the start of the campaign,
- while the Afghans are made of expert mountain guerrillas.
Supply and weather issues will make the campaign extremely hard on the British in this hard country...
