Deeply atmospheric and personal journey of a strange, strange man - with handcrafted music, visuals, dialogue, and challenges. All in the form of a 2D adventure game with plesant puzzles and rhythm-based fights.
Good evening, it's that time of the month 'o clock... Busier and sweatier than ever (due to the heat mostly, but also we are really working a lot πͺ )
This August brings a little puzzle/minigame showcase, some vfx, some audio design...

Quite simple puzzle, but it's the first one in the game, can't be too hard π
Luckily for Ward, the world in GoF is peppered with locked doors, strange machines and different navigational challenges that need figuring out.
Obviously coming up with good puzzles is no easy task and as history proved again and again - bad puzzles can wreck a game.
We are planning to overcome this by:
Subjecting all our design choices to blind playtests and taking feedback into consideration.
Not focusing on making the puzzles hard, instead making them satisfying and interesting to complete, we're not trying to be Myst π
This is still kind of treading new ground for us, but still, it rocks. Coming up with ideas, putting them to use and then having fun with what we've made is very deeply rewarding π
It takes time to focus on details like VFX and sounds, but we think it's 100% worth it.
Thanks for sticking around for another month. We are one month closer to finishing this game and we hope you're all allright as well.
Have a great evening π¦
