A new free update for Guardians Frontline (Update 5) is now officially live on Steam!

New stuff:
- Three new species of bugs have been detected!
- Arack Level 2: This new unit is capable of burrowing and launching surprise attacks. It is invulnerable below ground unless you use the tactical view to make them visible.
- Insect Level 2: Bigger and stronger than regular insects, it launches a freezing attack that will paralyze any unit for 5s
- Siege Sentinel: This variant of the sentinel launches explosive projectiles at very long distances. It is a great complement to the linear attack of the sentinel as this one can launch parabolic shots.
- Added 10 new rank levels to level 50! Who will be the first Guardian to reach Supreme Commander?
- Added the ultimate skin for Guardians that reach Lvl50! This skin also offers 30% extra protection against explosive damage to keep those pesky bug bombs at bay.
- AK20 - Explosive projectiles: Added a secondary attack to the AK20, you can now shoot powerful explosive projectiles.
Improvements:
- Added the option to create private games right from the Campaign section.
- Added two more filters to the games list: slots available and game mode.
- Bugs will try to go to the nearest portal if they don't have a valid path to their targets.
- Improved sword blast usability and added tips.
- Added new sound effects to the insects and scorpion.
- Added new capability to nests to trigger defensive waves in conquer if the player attacks them (enabled in the map editor)
- Added option to reconnect
- Added new map section “Creators highlights” where certified map makers can showcase their latest maps (see map editor section for more details)
- Added more information to clearly differentiate between personal and team influence.
Rating system changes:
-Added a feedback form to let players inform when they rate a map as 1s (performance, game issues, etc.)
- The rating screen will only appear if the map is played in Normal, Hard or Insane, and the player has played for more than 8 minutes.
- Changed the rating formula of maps until they have 25 votes to include mean and median. This change will take into consideration
Fixes:
- Join list breaks when attempting to join someone offline or in full room
- Fixed the Environmental effects are too loud on PC
- Fixed ancient ladder asset missing faces.
- Fixed some landscape settings not saving correctly.
- Fixed laser traps blocking passage sometimes.
- Fixed several errors that could potentially create performance problems
- Fixed the "get all updates" accolade grayed out even though it was already completed.
- Fixed bots being created in PvP games but not showing up in the player’s list.
- Fixed mind control barrels not disappearing sometimes.
- Fixed if you set bugs to despawn option it switches it back when you play the published map.
- Fixed when you save with despawn bugs at stage end it also breaks lights so when you hold gun the light remains fixed to head.
- Added limits to the environmental effects intensity selectors to avoid visual artifacts when going over range.
- Fix: Potential fix for some players getting kicked out when they jump into a vehicle
- Fixed a color bug with the blades, when you change the color of the blade (to any color besides blue), then change the sword types, the glowing effect/fog around it is still blue
- Fixed being able to start a new galaxy conquest without pressing the Start button.
Balance:
- Reduced damage of swords to 0.1 vs 0.2 before on Lvl2 nests.
Editor:
- Conquer spawn mode: added the option to use all nests as possible spawn points instead of just the 2 closest to target.
- Ability to increase the HP of the nests
- The biome filter is now out of beta and available to everyone! You can now merge assets from different biomes in your maps like putting ice spires on the desert.
- Certified map makers can now highlight one of their maps and it will automatically show up in the “Creators highlights” section. Each map maker can only show one map at a time. Adding the map to this section will remove it from Featured or Top Rated if it’s there too.
- More co-authoring and collab options (beta):
- Added a new customizable Author field to publish maps as joint col·laborations
- Transfer map: You can now transfer maps to other map makers
- Co-Op editor fixes
- Pieces disappear when someone leaves the editor
- Cloning doesn't work
- Grouping doesn’t work
- Only host can touch terrain
- Locking all objects breaks things
- Added Sound trigger volumes so you can play specific sounds when the player is inside them.
- Added 6 new music tracks
- Added the option to create Bugs-only kill meshes
- Added new tool to smooth terrain (still working on the Q3 issue)
- Added option to disable tactical view
- Added new Lightning and electric assets!
- Added explosive barrels as placeable assets
- Added a new ancient animated door
- Added the option to automatically open and close the doors when nearby. Enemies and allied units will automatically go through the door in this mode.
- Added a new ancient destroyable wall
- Added landed dropship as asset. This is the same dropship that we use in the campaign that takes off after pressing start.
- Added a new Supply Crate Respawner! This asset will automatically respawn a dropship crate on top of it at the frequency that you specify in the editor.
