A fast-paced Collectible Card Game focusing on the essentials, by a casual gamer for casual gamers! Easy to pick up, fast to play, and with no need to waste time on mastering the current meta, Final Stardust is a game for everyone who enjoys CCGs that reward skill, instead of min-maxing.
Feature Complete
The game is now technically 100% complete. Let's see what's left.
1) Remaining Plano Effects: These can wait a bit and be completed through the next patches.
2) Controller input: This can also wait a bit since there is no real demand for it, at least for now.
3) Localization: The publisher decided to push this after the full release so I predict late summer.
4) Final Missions For Astral Link 5 levels: This will be added in the next patch, on May 20th.
5) Porting: The publisher will probably help with this after the full release so there is nothing to do for now.
So the game now offers the "final" experience. The full release date will be announced soon so the next patches should be light (some improvements and bug fixing here and there).
Accessible For New Players
I kept trying to make the game even more accessible to new players throughout the last few patches since this has been a real problem even after fixing all the bugs and progression issues. Here is what I added this time:
1) Buying 5 booster packs at once now gives 1 extra, and buying 10 at once now gives 3 extra packs.
2) Mazais now only show up at Astral Link 3+ battles. Many people struggled with the Overdrive and Sacrifice mechanics so Mazais became overkill.
3) All Astral Link 1 decks are now composed of the same Plano x20. This should make all the first battles a lot easier.
Mission Complete
The game isn't 100% done, there are still some patches left but the features are now 100% complete. I said the early access will last about 6 months and I think I managed to fix everything in time. No matter what happens moving forward, I want to thank all the people that helped me with feedback.
I think the biggest game design mistake was the "Astral Link" feature. I wanted to do something different from other card games but it made the whole game a complicated mess. Unfortunately, I sinked too many too resources into it early on so I had to fully commit. The game will always have some flaws here and there but I hope that all these patches can at least make the overall experience enjoyable, especially for people who aren't too familiar with the game.
Next Chapter - BLUE HUNTER
I have been working on Final Stardust since 2020 so it's been a long time. Starting your dream game as your first project is a really bad idea but I was willing to try everything I can to make it happen. Obviously, I had to pay a price for that. Therefore, I am thinking of taking a break after finishing "Cosmic Nexus". I will be working on a smaller project to test some ideas on the side and I plan to release the game this same year, on December 2024. If you are interested you can wishlist the game here.
Alright, see you in 3-4 days.
