Hello everyone! I am finally back with another feature update for Rocket Cave Adventure. This update brings some new skills, QOL features, bug fixes, and more! Keep in mind this update is a Development build which means it will probably be a bit slower and laggier than a Release build. So if your game is lagging, that's because the game is doing extra logging in the background! I may upload a Release build later and keep the Development builds in the beta branch. We'll see. Now on with the update notes! Features: [list] [*] Added the player console. There is now a text-based console in the bottom right of the screen that tells you important events. Such as: How much damage you just took and from what source, how much XP you just earned and from what source, when you level up, and which passive skills just fired (such as a skill that triggers 20% of the time). [*] Added a proper way to unlock the helicopter by buying it from the meta-shop [*] The [Laser Turret] skill can now only be triggered if enemies are within a certain distance [*] Added a laser beam to show what the [Laser Turret] skill is targeting [*] Added skill [Laser Turret- Level up] [*] Added skill [Laser Turret- Damage] [*] Added skill [Laser Turret - Enemy kill] [*] Added skill [Laser Turret - Gold pickup] [*] Added barrels (crate variant) [*] Added SFX for leveling up [*] Added post-processing effect: Bloom [*] Added music track: Jungla [*] Added music track: Western Guitar [*] Added a smoke trail to Tut (the tutorial guy robot everyone loves) [*] In the skill tree menu, the color of the skill now shows if it can be unlocked or not [*] Added back the options menu (sorry) with the following options: Windowed mode, SFX volume, Music volume. Other options coming soon! [*] Added gamepad shortcuts to the loadout, post-game, skill tree, and gold send menus for faster navigation [/list] Balance changes: [list] [*] Changed the [Laser Turret] unlock in the meta-shop to be the first unlock [*] Made the meta-shop more accessible in the pit by lowering its height [*] The player's dead body is now gray instead of black for visibility [*] Falling rocks' now do damage more consistently [/list] Bugs fixed: [list] [*] Level themes did not properly change color [*] The player could use their skills during the loading screen [*] The main menu music did not play after quitting to the main menu [/list] Wow, reading this list made me realize how much I've added! This is definitely one of the bigger updates. More is to come, if you want to see updates more frequently, opt-in to the beta branch of the game!
