Hello Invaders!
Welcome to playtest update #3! I know it’s been a couple of weeks since the last one, and with summer in full swing, updates are going to be coming slower like this. That does NOT mean I’m not working on the game, though, and you should still keep your eyes open for updates!
In fact, here’s one right now!
This update now lets you actually die if you lose all of your HP. This was a fairly simple implementation that I just hadn’t gotten around to yet (probably because it was so easy and I like to tackle the hard stuff first).
Here’s what Playtest Update #3 includes
• A fix for the issue where occasionally the level up window would show no upgrades and get you suck in the menu. ** THIS NEEDS TESTED, SO BEAT IT UP, FOLKS, AND LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES
• Back-end (and some front end) fixes for Input Glyphs so they should now show properly for any input devices you’re using, be that KB/M or Controllers
• Back-end fixes for input action sets not being correctly set causing controller input problems in certain scenarios
• You can now die! Immortality is no longer a thing, and there are consequences to losing all of your HP. Keep them kitties safe now, will ya?!
• Enemies can no longer hurt you after they die. Hopefully.
• Fixed a bug with auto picking up loot that’s within a Safe Zone – now all the loot in the area will -not- fly all the way across the map straight to you when you exit dialogue… sorry, not sorry.
• Fixed the Reinforced Claws weapon to spread its damage areas out around your player character instead of stacking them in place. You should now be able to see them spread and align as you acquire upgrades to them now.
Here are the still existing bugs I know about:
• Not all of the quest dialogue matches up to the quest requirements
• Some of the dialogue shows formatting lines
• Characters look jittery in certain circumstances
• Switching from one character to another after having levelled up while in a Safe Zone will retain the former level but not the upgrades. For now, switch to the character you want before picking up any Safe Zone exp drops.
• You can save the game while the world is hazardous. I wouldn’t try it if I were you, as it might cause issues with loading your save
• Unlocks of crafting materials do not always persist and will sometimes notify you again after you’ve already unlocked them.
• Some notifications regarding the unlocking of quest rewards may not show, but the should successfully unlock anyway.
Thank you again!
Keep the bug reports and suggestions coming, and I’ll be sure to get you more and more updates until we’re gotten everything important into the game.
