Patch 1.3: Achievements and Bug Fix

Dogworld

Shoot, jump, and slide your way through a ruined, mysterious, dog-filled world as you fight to save humanity from the clutches of a rogue AI named Daddy.

Hey all, thanks for enjoying Dogworld for the last two years. This patch was... well, a long time coming. I've added a handful of achievements to the game, for the most part if you have a relatively completed save file it will automatically unlock a good number of them. I've also fixed a bug that caused you to switch weapons when pressing certain buttons that weren't the weapon switch button. As a result of this patch, the barrel launcher may not fire anything until you put a new barrel in it, and if you have a saved drone, it may default to a gun drone (if it was something else). These were unfortunately necessary side effects of patching at this point. Let me know if you run into other bugs. So why two years later? Fair question. The simple answer is that I was busy. I make games full time, which means it's my sole income source. Dogworld did decently, but not well enough that I could coast on it for a while, which meant that I had to put my head down and start working on my next game. For Dogworld that meant fixing the major bugs and any absolutely necessary features, and then dropping it, which is what I did. At the time I hadn't messed with adding achievements and didn't know how much work it'd be, so I put it off as a "if I have time later" kind of thing. I didn't have time later, as it turns out. Working on my next game consumed most of my time and energy and that's what I've been doing for the past two years. To be honest, it always kind of bothered me that Dogworld didn't have achievements. It felt kind of incomplete so I'm glad that I came back and finally added those in. Speaking of my next game, it releases in a little over two weeks, on 4/20. It's called OTXO, it's a top down shooter roguelike with an emphasis on tight gunplay and interesting ability combinations. I'm really proud of it and I think it's quite a fine game. If you enjoyed Dogworld you may enjoy OTXO as well, I feel my games have a lot of crossover in terms of "feel". But regardless, if you'd like to wishlist it (I'd really appreciate it) you can do so here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1608640/OTXO/ Also, if you feel like leaving a review for Dogworld, it certainly wouldn't hurt! Review numbers have stagnated pretty considerably (obviously, it's a two year old game) but it'd be cool to see it eventually hit 100 reviews. Anyways, thanks again ya'll. Sorry for the delay! ;)
