Originally, the regular version update was scheduled to be released at the end of September, but we decided to take more time to improve various inconvenient experiences discovered through internal QA. We are trying to present the best game possible, but we were unable to meet the promised deadline, so we apologize to those who were disappointed.
To share with you what we're currently spending our time on. Once the urgent work is completed, we'll also proceed with previously promised update notes in form of news.
1. Game Over and Ending
: TOD is a strategic RPG played with limited resources in the game. It is a so-called Magic Tower-like game. Therefore, once growth is blocked, very uncomfortable situations in which progress is impossible often occur. Various variables have been adopted to try to alleviate this, but they still haven't solved the fundamental problems that are impeding progress.
Therefore, if you lose a battle, rather than simply getting a game over, you will return to the previous save point and receive a special item called 'Candle', and we have set up a system where you can exchange this for some stats. These are awarded each time you return due to losing a battle, but there is a limit of 10 points each game. You can't obtain candles from the 11th regression and more, but it's not game over and you can continue from the previous save point.
: We have also prepared two endings, good and true. The good ending can be seen by defeating the last boss of the 5th tower, and the true ending can be achieved by defeating the last boss of the 5th tower at once without returning.
The good ending has a separate epilogue depending on the final class. The true ending is the same regardless of class.
2. High-speed system
: The battle in the Magic Tower-like game is simple. You hit, enemy hit. That's why TOD has prepared various effects and SE and many skills, but even if you watch it hundreds of times, you will get tired of it. To solve this problem, we have prepared a high-speed system.
You can change this at any time in Option and change two things: normal combat speed and shift-pressing acceleration speed.
3. Skill and Town shop Reorganization
: From now on, the time to obtain each class skill is set. There is no case where you have to lead the game at a disadvantage because skill you want does not appear. Additionally, the number of skills you gain from the beginning increases, allowing for strategic play from the start. Promotion skills are granted immediately, allowing you to experience a stronger character more quickly.
: Town shop will also improve its location and offerings to sell more relevant products.
4. Story and Encyclopedia
: Currently, improvements and redesign are being made to the lowest priority work, game story and encyclopedia work. The story will fix some of the awkward parts and change to more intuitive content focusing on player characters, and the encyclopedia is being improved so that even players who are new to the genre can understand it.
Besides these, many minor improvements are in progress. It won't take long, so please wait a little longer.
