In this series, we tell the story of crew members who have marked the history of the Trailblazers. In this second episode, let's follow the mindblowing journey of Eva the Architect, a unique Trailblazer whose mastery of systems allowed future generations of Trailblazers to better understand the organization potential of a landship. An entire chapter of the Manual of Management and Optimization of Material and Immaterial Resources is dedicated to the methods grouped under the name of Eva Layout. While Eva probably didn't invent them all but synthesized their essence, her contribution was nonetheless considerable. She was the first to imagine a Landship layout allowing for a radical optimization of living and working spaces with a very simple idea: mix everything together. To give you an image that should speak to you, think permaculture rather than monoculture. Like any major change, the most difficult part was getting the crew to accept it. But here again, Eva the Architect was able to demonstrate conclusively that her system was the most efficient, that it guaranteed longer crew survival, more significant discoveries, and that: and this is probably the reason for the long use of this system, life aboard the Landship became much more fluid, with human interactions more frequent and varied. Eva's students pushed the system even further by trying to turn the resting place into a workspace, but as you can well imagine, calm is necessary for sleep to bring counsel, and this overzealousness was quickly curbed by the common sense of the less qualified Trailblazers. The space of a Landship is confined and managing its space is essential. Here again, the human factor is important. A Landship is not an automated warehouse but rather a place inhabited by the dreams and fears of a community of Trailblazers. Demonstrating brilliance in resource management will allow you to achieve great accomplishments, contributing to a larger understanding of the Trailblazers world.
