In this series, we tell the story of crew members who have marked the history of the Trailblazers. In this first episode, let's follow the epic journey of Simmias the Explorer, a Trailblazer whose myth establishes the lineage of the Trailblazers. There are few tangible traces left of Simmias the Explorer: his name inscribed at the very top of the Expedition Register and a few mentions in the writings of descendant Trailblazers. The words that most often emerge to describe his odyssey are enough to make any Trailblazer seeking to follow in his footsteps pale. He is the [i]ultimate discoverer[/i], the one who [i]understood the meaning of the trail[/i], the one who [i]transforms exploration into an act of faith[/i]. The storytellers of Terminas are fond of saying that he is depicted on an ancient fresco as the one who paves the way and guides future generations. [i]Simmias set off with 5 friends aboard a small landship purchased from an indigenous merchant. He departed on a full moon day with food supplies for 25 days, a dog (Kally), some navigator's tools and a notebook. [/i] Sadly, he never returned. The Expedition Register mentions a second landship named as “the follower”, departing 90 days later, following the trail left by Simmias's Landship and returning after 30 days, short on supplies, a crew half decimated, with the memory of the Simmias trail, continuing to the horizon, which the second crew failed to reach the end of. The Expedition Register shows how much the expedition is an act of dreams, courage, pragmatism, and faith. In Trailblazers, being an expeditioner means being capable of wild ambitions and restraint. It's having that sixth sense that allows you to anticipate what the territory on the horizon will be like - and always with the hope of being the one who discovers, the first, the one who through their gaze becomes a creator, who through their steps marks the territory.
