A roguelite deckbuilding card game that demands tactics and switching in battle. Unlock and pick your divine battle team, develop your very own strategy and deck builds, preview levels and choose your path, and survive mythological bosses to defeat Azathoth in each playthrough.
Hello dear players! This is a significant update. Other changes are ready to be implemented, but we have decided to push some of them back for build stability and more testing.
The following new cards are added to the game! Please purchase them from Hephaestus.
-Energy Compression
-Thorn Shield
-Aim for the Throat
-Word of Power
-Victory Rush
-Arcane Grace
-Freezing Blast
-Envenom
-Poison Bomb
-Holy Hymn
-Regenerate
Developer Notes:
These new cards are made for the upcoming new difficulties. We have implemented them in this patch for Early Access players to try them out. There will be a few more cards added when the new difficulty levels are ready.
Card Modifications
-Poison: the DOT damage has been decreased from SP*0.7 to SP*0.5.
Difficulty levels adjusted
-Very Easy has been renamed to Easy.
-Easy has been renamed to Normal.
-Normal has been renamed to Veteran.
Developer Notes:
We have discovered that, despite having Easy and Very Easy difficulties, new players tend to start with the Normal Difficulty anyway, thinking that they can surely handle the default difficulty. Then they become frustrated due to the lack of understanding of the battle mechanics. We have decided to make Easy the new Normal and default difficulty to ease new players' learning curves. Experienced players can still start games with the Veteran difficulty, which is almost identical to the previous Normal difficulty.
New status ailments added
-Burning: Takes extra Fire DOT Damage when taking damage.
-Regen: Heal 15% of max HP at the start of the turn.
New feature added: Ineffective card locked
-Card types that are ineffective to characters are now locked in battle.
Developer Notes:
During Taipei Game Show, we have confirmed that even though we have implemented tooltips to remind players that certain card types are not suitable for certain characters, new players still use Tanks or Spell Damage Dealers to play Attack cards. After some debates and discussions, we have decided to lock card types ineffective to each role. For players familiar with the battle mechanics, the lock can be disabled in the options menu under “Lock cards not suitable for characters in combat.” Tanks can still use Attack Cards to make some killing blows, after all.
Status Icons upgraded
-All icons in combat are updated.
Developer Notes:
We have reworked the icons since each monster will be having its own “Trait” in Hard Difficulty and above (like Tough Hides for Cerberus). All negative effects (debuffs) are now red, and all positive effects (buffs) are blue, while all Traits will be yellow with golden frames. Hopefully, this will make the icons more distinguishable.
Damage Types redefined
-The descriptions on most of the cards are now modified to clarify the damage types, for example, “direct damage” or “DOT” (damage-over-time).
Developer Notes:
We have decided to make this change because high-level artifacts provide additional damage to damage-over-time effects like Bleeding or Poisoned, and these effects will be even more important in higher difficulties. For example, Spell Blast will now read: Deal direct SP damage 1~3 times.
Card play confirmation modified
-Now cards will need to be dragged and clicked before it is played in the battle.
Developer Notes: Single-click used to play the cards without targets, and we designed it this way to make players feel convenient. However, during Taipei Game Show, we have discovered that many new players or players used to similar genres were confused. This change is intended to give players a chance to cancel the play.
Underground Cave Map optimized
-We have spent some time optimizing this map because some players have reported that they encounter framerate issues when battles take place on this map.
Bug Fix
-Fixed a freezing UI bug when Calculated Risk triggered Lightning Rod to finish the battle.
-Fixed a bug where some players have their save game files disappearing after entering expeditions. We have discovered that this is caused by some European Windows systems automatically changing a period into a comma in our save files. For example, the number 1.34 was changed to 1,34 in that case.
