A challenging retro arcade FPS/TPS straight from the late '90s. The Crime Wars have started and it's up to the Ultra Cops to bring back ultimate justice. Use Mechs, Riot Cars and serious firepower to bring the pain to the criminal underworld in this 6th Generation Y2K inspired game.
Hey guys
Ultra Cop is releasing tomorrow the 20th, midnight South African time.
It's finally finished, or at least I hope it is lol
I really, really want you guys to have as much info available to you before you maybe decide to try out Ultra Cop, as it's quite a bit different from CARNAL in terms of design and style.
This is a budget game made with no budget.
The last thing I want is for anyone to feel like they got something they didn't sign up for, or that they feel ripped off in any way.
What follows here is a quick recap of the game and its scope:
What Should I Expect?
In my mind I was making a game that could have been a launch title for the Sega Dreamcast, aesthetically and tech wise.

Imagine a Y2K era arcade experience where you play for 15-30 minutes, and then go on with your day.
A stress reliever with bite lol.
This is an unserious game that could have fit on a demo disc that came with a gaming magazine circa 1999.

A game that could fit on a GD-ROM.
I don't know if I achieved what I set out to do, but at least you guys can have an idea of what the goal was.
How Long is the Game?
There are four missions in the game, which can be played in any order.
A blind playthrough would probably take an hour to complete, more or less.
The idea behind this game, and others that will follow in time, is that they are meant
to be shorter arcade-like experiences.
Quick jump in and play sort of vibes.
How Much Will It Cost?
Ultra Cop will sell for $2 US.
On sale it will be anywhere from $1 to $0.50.
It's a dollar more than CARNAL, the idea being that it stands a slightly better chance of being accepted by Steam one day for full profile features (public achievements, trading cards, etc).
Will This Be Supported Further?
I will support this game until almost every possible issue is sorted out.
I won't delude myself into thinking that there won't be any issues after release, after all it's a one-man show. Problems are just waiting to reveal themselves lol.
Feel free to create a topic in the discussions page if you run into any issues.
What If I Don't Like The Game?
I say this with all due respect; please do not hold onto this game if you're dissatisfied in any way.
Ensure that you apply for a refund before the two week cut-off and before the two hour play-time check.
Again, I don't want anyone to feel like they got ripped off or short changed.
Constructive reviews are welcome, positive or negative.
Conclusion
This is another silly game, and it's not a serious project whatsoever.
Still it's something I'm glad I saw through to the end in what has proven to be a very difficult year for me, both health and career wise.
So whether this game succeeds or flops hard, I'm just grateful that I got this far.
God knows I almost didn't.
Thanks for checking out this little thing and reading if you did ːsteamthumbsupː
Cheers!
