The Ship Map Update - 14.1.5

Breachers

Breachers is a tactical 5v5 VR FPS. Plan your assault or orchestrate your defense as a team through intense close-quarters combat. Climb, vault, rappel, swing, shoot and strategize your way to victory in stunning environments.

Last month, we launched the first major update in our quest to complete the roadmap we envisioned for Breachers. Today, we bring you another major update that continues that journey, introducing the first of the new maps we’ve been developing: Ship! Alongside the new map, we’re also implementing Modulate’s ToxMod to help us better moderate voice chat, a tweak to economy, and a collection of fixes and optimizations. Check out the full changelog in the “dev-log” channel of our Discord.
Ship: The New Map
Introducing, Ship! This new map features an ESTF transport vessel that was discovered by Revolter intelligence. It is suspected of carrying a potentially dangerous payload. Upon closer inspection, you’ll find that each deck of the ship has a distinct purpose. The lowest deck is the beating heart of the ship, with engines and machinery wearing away to keep the vessel moving. On the middle deck, you can find the crew's quarters filled with everything they need to stay operational. Finally, the upper deck is the brain of the craft, dedicated to command and navigation. And if you ever get lost, you can follow the red pipes on the ceiling that always flow towards central hubs near staircases. Ship is playable on Bomb Defusal as well as Control Point, and since this is a brand-new map, it’s likely things about it will still change as we receive more feedback from players. We’re excited to see what you think! Watch the trailer HERE!
ToxMod Implementation
We already announced this on socials, but we have been working with Modulate to implement their ToxMod solution to increase our ability to identify and review toxic behavior and Rules of Conduct violations that happen in our voice chat. You can think of ToxMod as another player joining in on high-risk voice chats to help us enforce our Code of Conduct. Just like many other players, if ToxMod hears something scary or problematic, it will submit a report. That report will then be reviewed and handled by our team. ToxMod will be active in all public servers, (so not in password protected custom servers and party chat). If you have any concerns, feel free to come ask questions in the “questions-for-team” channel in our Discord.
Balance changes
We don’t have many balancing changes this time around, as we’re still analyzing the data and the community’s feedback from our previous changes. However, we did increase the loss bonus from 500 to 1000 credits when losing more than 2 rounds in a row, which should make it easier for teams to come back from a lose-streak. Next update will have more balance changes again, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the community will respond. We hope you enjoy the new map, and as always, let us know what you think in our Discord, and be on the lookout for more updates and info on Breachers soon! The arguably biggest update of the roadmap, the Progression Update, is on its way. -Triangle Factory
