We released a new public patch for Beam (1.0.4r119s) on Steam.
Most changes were done on stream and we will continue to correct and modify with your suggestions.
Here are the details:
- Fixed missing control bindings for moving up and down in green beams. Now you can rebind those controls as intended.
- Improved performance in the whole game by fixing the core beam assign code for the beam collider volumes.
- Improved performance of ingame TVs by limiting their fps and only activating if a player is close.
- Improved the performance of fog sources by only executing their particle on trigger callbacks if the player is close.
- Improved ingame contrast of the settings menu for better readability.
- Removed unnecessary level parts in 1.1
- Fixed bug in 1.9 with cranes
- Fixed crane collision on the end of the hangar section.
- Fixed occlusion bug in 1.7
- Fixed acid not having damage in 1.7
- Fixed collision bugs in 1.4
- Fixed player sometimes colliding with the rope of the first container crane.
- Fixed minor issues with missing colliders and occlusiuon in 2.5 2.6 2.7 and 2.9
- Optimized PlayerDealDamage script to ignore everything besides the player.
- Changed vertex color blend shader, removed ShaderForge and rebuilt it as a surface shader to avoid lighting problems on sandy rock surfaces.
- Performance Optimization with the underlaying physics system.
- Changed Softshadow to hardshadow on Red Bounce Beams.
- Changed fire in level 1.1 (reduced size and moved some out of the way deleted some others).
- Changed lighting in 1.3 for better performance.
- Changed Occlusion data, lighting and geometry in level 1.4 no gameplay changes.
- Changed some light beams and lights in 1.10 for better performance.
- Changed atmospheric smoke prefab for better performance.
