Hello.
It's been a while since the last update, but Killer Dolls Dark Abyss is still alive, and there's a few updates. This is going to be a long one!
Ceci, The Jaguar, has gone through some upgrades. Here's a picture that shows a before and after. I think she looks better than before.

There's been more work on the levels. Updates are mostly for the forest level, but the new caves/mines level has also seen some changes. The idea is that this level also has some ruins of "the old world" (since this is some sort of post-apocalyptic game), so one of the pictures shows a building, that will soon be dirtied and ruined a little. Here's some pictures of the forest level.

There's been some new enemies as well. These are enemies that will show in the mines/caves level. In the story, they are very violent and brutal, and they have some really brutal attacks. This video shows some of them.

You can see some of these attacks deplete the Doll's magic. There's a reason for that, so it's time for some quick lore. In Killer Dolls lore, the weapons used by the Dolls (called "Nishumas") can only be used by women because the obsidian used to make the weapons "connects" or "reacts" to the women's capacity to give birth and then use this linked energy to unleash magic attacks. This means the Doll don't have magical power themselves, as the magical power comes from their weapons. Some enemies know that, and some of their attacks target the Doll's lower abdomen area to target their ability to use magic (in the game this translates into reducing or completely wiping the Doll's magic bar).
There's more lore related to this subject, but that's the basic idea.
The caves/mines level is somewhere in the middle of the game, and later levels will have enemies that exploit this vulnerability a lot, including a very vicious boss that will make sure you are barely able to use your magic. This should make combat more interesting and difficult.
This lore bit also partially explains why there's only playable women in the game (the real reason was because we wanted a game with cute girls, but we came up with a lore reason for a female-only group of warriors).
Another update is a small change in Moni's outfit, specifically, the arm and leg bands. So far, two of the three Dolls have a nickname: Cami, (Camila) is The Daughter of The Sun, and Ceci (Cecilia) is The Jaguar), and planned Dolls also have a nickname (for example Cami's twin sister, Vale, Valeria, will be The Daughter of The Moon). That made me think Moni doesn't have a nickname so after a while, I came up with a change to the outfit that could give her a nickname.
Now she's going to be Moni (Monica), The Jade Princess as she now has jade bracelets.

The rest of the time has gone into setting up new enemies and fixing enemies and gameplay stuff. For example, these are the zombies that will show up in the forest level.

One of the zombies has a staff with a horse skull at the top. This enemy can produce a very interesting attack that also depletes magic.

The horse skull staff is related to another enemy, the woman that "controls" the zombie men.

According to the lore, this enemy is a "Siguanaba" and is based on a local legend from our country, El Salvador. In the legend, this beautiful woman shows up at night to attract men and, when they are close, she turns into this monster with a horse face and drives men mad. We adapted this legend into the idea of having this "Siguanaba" enemy that has brainwashed men, but they have been under her control for so many years they have turned into living corpses (meaning that they biologically died but she is still controlling them).
I think that's all the updates for this time.
If you like what you see, and you like the idea of a game about cute girls fighting monsters, please wishlist Killer Dolls Dark Abyss!
