Some assets are created by directly improving on what was used in “Kamiko” so some of you may recognize them, or find some areas familiar. The time we had to develop “Kamiko” was relatively short, so there was a lot we couldn’t do. Elevation was one aspect we couldn’t implement. In “Kamiko” you could attack enemies on top of buildings from the ground, but this time, “height” is a factor so you cannot interfere with objects that are not on the same level. Here is a picture using “Kamiko” graphics showing how the map physics have changed. The elevation physics were implemented not just to create an accurate hitbox, but also to prevent puzzles and gimmicks from being accessed from different levels. In other words, it might be possible to access them even if there is a little distance as long as they are on the same level as the player… but that’s all we’re giving away for now. Still, puzzles using elevation aren’t necessarily compatible with 2D top view games, so we’ve used them in moderation. ーーーー If you’re interested in our arcade-like action game “Kamiko”, it’s available for download here! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1022480/KAMIKO/ ーーーー
