In the world of Scramble Vice, robot battles are just a part of any oother day. We try to keep things convincing enough so the designs "feel possible" in real life, but making the robotics work and making the controls feel good are two different things. It's a process of trial and error that has us making adjustments continuously.
Robot games are fun because you get to mobilize a unit that can be tricky in its functions, and run head on into gunfire knowing your armor can take it to some degree. We're trying to get the perfect balance of the robot functions, destruction mechanics and gameplay pacing so Scramble Vice can be an action game that keeps players on their toes.
The theme of the mechanical design is to have "details convincing enough it could be possible in reality." For example, the gangway to the cockpit, the rollers on the heels of the robots (the covers rise whenever the rollers are in use) and muzzle flash on firearms that cast shadows in different angles depending on where the flash occurred. Minute details like that which nobody might notice. Even the rockets on the robot's body are designed to be used for turning and dashing apart from its basic function of flying.
People that love robot games have an eye for detail like that. It isn't something we can overlook. The game itself is still going to be made so everyone can have fun with it, but by paying attention to detail, whenever someone notices it may put a smile on their face. We hope that could be you.
That's all for now.
See you, Scramble Vice!!
