[h1][b]Greetings fellow Vanguards![/b][/h1] For the past 6 months I have been working on a huge reboot of combat, gameplay and game mechanics. Where to start?! [h3][b][u]Materials:[/u][/b][/h3] Crystals, Gas, Energy cells and Ore have been added to the game. You can collect these from fallen enemies. These new materials can be used to purchase new ships from the research centre. The Black Market has been updated to reflect these changes. [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42541283/1eff31125591f8e562d8e021873ef531a3cd6030.png[/img] [h3][b][u]Modules:[/u][/b][/h3] Will be rebooted in a future update with new game mechanics where you will be able to equip 6 of the same modules for extra stat bonuses. Or mix and match; the choice is yours! [h3][b][u]Elite Vanguard Academy:[/u][/b][/h3] The same goes for the Academy. This will be re-released once all the elite skills are ready and not just a few like before. [h3][b][u]Research Center:[/u][/b][/h3] Has been updated and is now more streamlined; the UI will display the amount of each material you will need to unlock the ship, once purchased. It will be followed by a new flashy animation. [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42541283/ed6d33373ee9cc0b7b17f9e51e116841351594c1.png[/img] [h3][b][u]Shipyard:[/u][/b][/h3] All the ships stats have been reworked and the display of this information has been improved with new stats and stat bars. However some information is still a WIP. Some skills will display the wrong amount of damage and some do not display any information at all (all damage is correct in-game). You can now recruit and promote crew members here. Crew members have 5 levels of promotion - each promotion affects their major stat; for example a Repair crew member can be promoted from Armour +300 to +450 (+30 armour per level). Each promotion currently costs 250,000 Credits. Each Specialization currently affects 4 of the total 13 different stats! There are currently 12 Specializations, with the possibility of more in the future. [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42541283/9fe42314177972cbcd5cb917f04cedc3feb9ce4f.png[/img] Specialization examples: Is your favourite ship handling too slowly? Then try the 'Space Crusader'! This specialization affects acceleration, angular acceleration, max rotation speed and top speed! However, if you want more firepower try the 'Heavy Artillery'. This specialization affects attack power, detection range, precision and critical damage. On-top of all of this, each Specialization can be levelled up to a maximum of level 12, Costing 50 Crystals per level. [h3][b][u]Armoury:[/u][/b][/h3] You will enter this new room once you have selected a ship (or clicked the armoury button). Here you will be able to drag and drop your crew/modules into the upgrade slots to improve your ship stats. Your Vanguard Specialization will be applied too. As of writing this all stats are updated in real-time. Each type of mission will have its own icon. I currently have 2 modes coming in the next update: 'Last Stand', and a new mode called 'Conquest'. I currently have 7 modes planned in total; A tower defence style game mode, a base defence mode, 'Frontline', 'Last Stand', 'Survivors', 'Conquest' and a map exploration mode called 'Excursion'. Whether all of these will make it from concept to in-game will remain to be seen.
