Autopsy Simulator is a first-person horror-sim hybrid where players take on the role of a practice pathologist and study case files, created in collaboration with real-world forensic doctors, to help guide their dissection of anatomically accurate bodies to determine each subject’s cause of death.

[b]Hey Pathologists,[/b] We're excited to announce that our PTE for Autopsy Only Mode is now live on Steam! In our PTE, players can experience a [b]pre-alpha version of our new Autopsy Only Mode game mode. [/b]Before we explain how to join the PTE, we want to make the community aware that the [b]PTE uses a pre-alpha build.[/b] This version is in early development, which means [b]you may run into bugs and issues during our PTE.[/b] [i]NOTE: Our PTE is currently in English Only. We'll be looking to add more languages soon, but as this is a pre-alpha build the game mode is in English only. AOM will feature more languages in full release![/i] We wanted to grant the community access to this [b]pre-alpha build to gather your feedback[/b] regarding the game mode.[b] We plan to make changes to the game mode based on your PTE feedback[/b] from Steam Discussions, our Autopsy Simulator Discord and our social channels! [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/37485356/e02c0a578fb9f49d5bc75f62ce0ecc78d5203f72.png[/img] [h2]PTE TIMINGS & INFO:[/h2] [b]📅 OUT NOW! ⌨️ Play a Pre-Alpha build of Autopsy Only Mode 🧑‍💻 Available to all Steam owners of Autopsy Sim![/b] [h3]How to join our PTE[/h3] [b]Good news- we've made joining the PTE simpler for all Steam users![/b] To join the PTE, head to the BETA tab in the properties of Autopsy Simulator in your Steam Library. Once here, select the 'None' drop down and an option named 'Autopsy_only_preview' will appear. Select this option from the drop-down and opt-into the AOM PTE branch! [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/37485356/8458ae3c8b9f71c26ae7f807e66fae9a99c5e278.png[/img] Here are the full steps to access the AOM PTE: [olist][*] Go to your Steam Library [*] Right Click on Autopsy Simulator [*] Click on Properties [*] Select the BETAS tab on the left [*] Select the 'None' drop down in the top right of the Beta menu. [*] Select 'Autopsy_only_preview' in the drop down menu. [*] Click on "Opt-into: Autopsy_only_preview" [*] Autopsy Simulator should now be downloading an update for Autopsy Only Mode! If not, simply quit and restart Steam.[/olist] [h3]PTE Known Issues[/h3] As our PTE is a pre-alpha build of Autopsy Only Mode, we're releasing a playtest build with some known issues. We've listed these issues below, with workarounds available incase you run into any of these bugs. The team working on Autopsy Only Mode are hard at work to fix these issues and improve the game mode ahead of future playtests and the full release of Autopsy Only Mode! [u][b]Known Issues List[/b][/u] [b]Softlock Issues:[/b] [b]Issue:[/b] Lungs can become doubled lungs that softlock the player after cutting them in Autopsy Only Mode [b]What to do:[/b] Lungs can be moved to the cutting board but cutting them causes a softlock, avoid cutting the lungs – the mini game may be failed safely. [b]Issue:[/b]When smoking is the cause of death, the Trachea is missing on cutting table causing a softlock. [b]What to do:[/b] When taking out the trachea, if the clipboard states that the cadaver was a smoker, avoid cutting it. [b]Issue:[/b] After finishing a blood test, if you quickly interact with another object or pull away from the blood test the game can softlock. [b]What to do:[/b] When finishing blood test with microscope, avoid quickly pressing the left mouse button. The cursor icon can be visible and still cause a softlock, so wait until your character's point of view has returned before left clicking. [b]Issue:[/b] The pipette screen can occasionally softlock. [b]What to do:[/b] The pipette may stay in the players control after completing the mini game, which blocks moving on. If happens it should be safe to restart the game mode. [b]Issue:[/b] Checking blood under a microscope occasionally softlocks the game. [b]What to do:[/b] If the blood under the microscope freezes, try to exit with right mouse button. If this continues, restart via the pause menu. [b]Issue:[/b] Restarting the organ mini game may block the player from interacting with other objects. [b]What to do:[/b] Don’t spam any buttons when re-interacting with organ after failing mini game. [b]Other Issues:[/b] [b]Issue:[/b] Players are still able to make photos of injury marks after cutting the head open in Autopsy Only Mode. [b]What to do: [/b]For a fully immersive experience start every autopsy by doing photos. [b]Issue: [/b]If players remap their buttons, some menus will open but not close. [b]What to do:[/b] Button mapping is still being worked on, avoid remapping buttons. [b]Issue:[/b] Camera can be opened during Pipette screen. [b]What to do:[/b] Pressing F opens camera at the same time, but does not affect the test and it can be completed safely [b]Issue:[/b] Button prompts can be visible and do not change when button remapping in Autopsy Only Mode. [b]What to do:[/b] Button mapping is still being worked on, avoid remapping buttons. [b]Issue:[/b] Controls submenu and all options inside react to inputs with a delay in Autopsy Only Mode. [b]What to do:[/b] Button mapping is still being worked on, avoid remapping buttons [b]Issue:[/b] Entering Pause Menu and pressing Back while interacting with the cadaver makes parts of the interface disappear. [b]What to do:[/b] Do not press Back (default on keyboard is RMB) while in the pause menu. [b]Issue:[/b] Shadow resolution cannot be change in graphic settings [b]What to do:[/b] The shadow resolution option may be still accessed via Main Menu settings, but the shadow settings are still being worked on. [b]Issue: [/b]After operating on the cadaver, players are still able to make a general photo in Autopsy Only Mode. [b]What to do:[/b] For a fully immersive experience start every autopsy by doing photos. [b]Issue:[/b] Some voice-overs have a "Skip" prompt in the lower right corner when this option is yet to be configured in Autopsy Only Mode. [b]What to do:[/b] Button mapping is still being worked on, at the moment it is safe to try and press the skip button (it does not affect the gameplay). The team working on Autopsy Only Mode is working hard to fix these issues for future playtests and for Autopsy Only Mode's release!
