B-12 is a tough, third/first-person action-platformer with randomized levels and relentless robots with plasma cannons for hands.
This update is mostly about getting some of the background lore behind B-12 out of my brain and into the game itself. I've had all of this planned for a while, but I wanted to focus on gameplay above all else. -- Does the game feel like a 3D version of Mega Man X? Yes? Good! That was always the idea.
Building an audience for an action game without a 'story' has been extremely difficult. I'm very grateful to the small number of people who've given it a chance and understand my vision, but I knew I'd need to add something to give the game context and -- more importantly -- answer questions like "Why am I playing? Who made these robots, and why am I destroying them?" etc.
Hopefully this update will start to answer those questions in a way that sounds appealing. I think the game is a lot of fun. I think anyone who likes Mega Man games and 3D rogue-likes would enjoy it, but I'm having a hard time convincing the world to give it a chance.
To be honest I hate self-promotion, and sometimes I'm afraid the game will never find a substantial audience because I'm too afraid to put myself out there. If you like B-12 and you think you know anyone else who would enjoy it, please spread the word!
Thank you! Please enjoy.
