Hows about that Jacob Geller video?! I watched that leaning against a door with a hand on my heart and another covering my eyes. Big thanks to my housemates Patrick for accompanying me through that ordeal - aside from that, its the best thing thats ever happenned.
Its a shame "Who's Lila?" looked so good. Why couldn't he have picked a bad game to go alongside The Utility Room? Thats a joke of course. Anyway all of that aside the video opens things up for the next game which you should be able to wishlist today (If thats something you wanted to do).
It was meant to be a more marketable game but I think its going to be stranger than the last, or rather this one - not the same scope but definitely more experimental. We'll see. Anyways UPDATE 1.4.9 brings...
- NEW HANDS
yeah some people caught on that it was the default Unreal Engine hands with a rock texture. I snuck these in yesterday. It was only a problem for people who knew that but it was naughty on my behalf - I've switched them out with some weird skinny measly ones I think match the vibe better.
- NEW MODE
Casual Mode - this won't excite most of you but its a more ACCESSABLE and TELEPORT ONLY way of playing the game. Probably better for Seated Players as it doesn't have the jump and it skips THE MAZE level (the level that makes you want to blow your brains out). You can switch to it in the pause menu or choose it upon starting the game.
- BEDROOM DE-DECORATED
The bedroom during The Reprimand has been redecorated or rather de-decorated. I felt there was too much going on.
and... Deprecated SteamVR. Now entirely OpenXR (you shouldn't notice anything different. If you use SteamVR make it your default OpenXR runtime).
(Note: If you run into issues this update upon loading a map like being unable to jump you might have to delete your save in the Chapter Select. I've been making changes that affect how you navigate and things might have frankensteined between versions).
Other changes
- The Computer is slightly more explorable with some small areas opened up.
- Scenic areas in The Computer are less enticing (darker, look unnavigable) so it should put players off thinking they can go off-piste. I've also added some extra rocks to disuade players.
- Added 2 more slugs.
- The Slug collectable has been added to The Computer if people can't find it in the Maze or are playing Casual.
- The Doors are closer together preventing you from teleporting through the gap in the middle.
- A bug report button has been added to the main menu.
- The slugs are less likely to move over small rocks in The Computer.
- More minicubes have been added to The Computer.
- Added a new tutorial screen upon arriving at The Utility Room for Casual Mode players.
- You can now switch between Casual/HMD oriented/Controller oriented movement in the pause menu.
- Controls in the pause menu has been renamed to "Controls/Settings".
- Added a 45 second delay that moves you on in the Bedroom during The Reprimand to prevent dawdling.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug that causes you to fall upon seeing the intro text.
- Prevented a fall through the map on The Mouth and The Pendulum.
- Eased the sound on the Predator's cameo/jumpscare during The Mouth.
- Prevented the falling sound playing when switching versions.
Here's the fantastic Jacob Geller Video if you didn't see it:

*Can any Index users confirm that everything is working fine or rather message me if something is broken? I deprecated SteamVR in favour of OpenXR (Which SteamVR uses anyway) but my Index Cable broke so I can't check everythings a-okay. I'm 90% sure it is though.
