Tribe Update Releasing Soon

The Tribe Update drastically changes the late to end game. It replaces the blighted island concept and replaces it with a number of missions. And it will be released soon - specifically on the 7th of December Let's take a look at what to expect with this next release
New Trailer
With the large changes that this release will bring, it is only fitting that the trailer changes to reflect it. [previewyoutube=nFlNPS5TGZ4;full][/previewyoutube]
The Story
This release introduces and fleshes out our hero's story. Their village having been razed by goblins and their companions taken captive, they escape, only to shipwreck on the island. Our hero's story is now shown in a number of cutscenes which play before gameplay starts. And after having survived and settled on the island, our hero will work to unite the other tribes being menaced by the goblin foe, and hoping to finally rescue their companions. A scene from their escape is also displayed in the main menu, and used for character customisation
Missions
The blighted lands concept has been changed and replaced by a number of missions. After our hero repairs the ship, they can visit each island in turn, with each island containing a different mission. With each mission, our hero finds a tribe which is in trouble, or takes the fight to the goblins. Each mission is entirely different, and whilst some of them do have procedurally generated maps, the rest have custom made maps and custom code to support them. Most of the missions include some degree of combat, but with certain missions, the more economic focused hero can use their resources to make things easier. For instance - this mission involves defending a fortress from waves of goblin attackers. If we want to make the fight easier - we can purchase some mission specific upgrades - such as the healing supplies upgrade which allows you more healing. This should allow players who prefer to focus on the economic side of the game, to made combat just that bit easier.
Blood Brothers
In previous versions of the game, blighted islands could be claimed and specific buildings could be placed to grant our hero some extra resources. This feature has been replaced by the concept of a Blood Brother. When completing each mission, the player will unlock at least one blood brother (some missions grant more than one). By using the desk, the player can assign blood brothers to specific tasks. Depending on the task assigned, every day, our hero may find additional resources in their stockpile. Alternatively they can be assigned to a crafting building to give a bonus to the quality of the items produced. A third option is to assign a blood brother as a companion - this character will join you in the dangerous areas, and fight off enemies with their bow.
Tribehome & Services
A representation of the tribes that our hero is uniting can be found in the Tribehome. This location can be visited from the main island, and gradually expands as our hero completes more missions. With each expansion, the amount of villagers wandering increases, and so do the buildings. Aside from being an interesting location to visit and watch grow, the tribehome also introduces a number of services. Some of the services are limited by the size of the tribehome. One of the services on offer is the ability to repair one's weapons and tools. If our hero happens to be flush with a lot of money, they can also make use of the combat training on offer at the barracks - although this is expensive.
New Enemies
A new major update wouldn't be the same without some new enemies to fight. Aside from some special boss enemies, the goblins have also received some reinforcements, some of which have special abilities to make them more effective. The rogue and the alchemist are just two of them. The rogue is able to land critical hits - and in so doing, applies a debuff which makes it easier for their friends to harm you. The alchemist is able to occasionally throw bottles of toxic gas, which will make you weaker if you breathe in too much of them.
Wrapping it Up
There are many other smaller changes which I haven't mentioned here. I hope these changes will make the late to end game more fun.
