Going Under

Going Under is a satirical dungeon crawler about exploring the cursed ruins of failed tech startups. As an unpaid intern in the dystopian city of Neo-Cascadia, you’ll wield office junk as weaponry as you make your way through the offbeat procedural dungeons beneath your company campus.

We just launched the Working From Home update for Going Under. That’s right, it’s out RIGHT NOW! You can PLAY IT! (Coming to consoles ASAP, we promise!) For this update, we wanted to address some of the biggest gaps we and the players saw in the gameplay, to make it a better experience for people playing for the first time, as well as add content to give experienced players something new to tackle. A lot of players have been asking for the ability to play the dungeons one after the other in more of a “True Roguelike” setting, so we’re giving the people what they want! Not only can you challenge the game’s core 3 dungeons in a single run, you’ll get to banish a new final boss: The Impostor. To unlock Impostor Mode, you’ll need to beat the game’s first 4 dungeons, and then encounter The Impostor in a normal dungeon run. We’ll let you figure out the rest ;) [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35928655/940e212262545c2164339709a7ae654a213774bb.gif[/img] Not only that, but there are 7 levels of Overtime, our scaling difficulty system similar to Slay the Spire’s Ascension. And they get STUPID hard. Even experienced interns will be at this one for quite a while. [h2]But wait, there's more![/h2] Easily the most requested feature was the ability to play old dungeons that get locked off for plot reasons. We’re finally caving to public opinion and letting you play the original 3 dungeons whenever you want with the flick of a lever! No more grinding the insanely hard dungeons to get your mentorships finished. We’ve also got the Rolodex, our game’s version of a bestiary. By picking up business cards in the dungeon and capturing enemies in them, you’ll be able to learn more about the game’s lore, or just read whatever stupid jokes Caelan felt like putting in there. Jackie now has a room to hang out in! You can change outfits (yes, there are OUTFITS!), listen to the songs you’ve heard in-game, and start Impostor Mode runs from the comfort of your own room. Finally, there’s a whole bunch of new Skills, Curses, weapons, and secrets to discover in the existing game as well as Impostor Mode. There are now a total of 99 Skills in the game! Can you get them all? [*] Added your best time successfully clearing a dungeon to the stats card on the entrance slide. [*] Some new secrets to discover 👀 [/list] [h3]Balance Changes:[/h3] [list] [*] Reduced the trigger odds of Win Friends & Influence Monsters and Aggro Crab’s Blessing. [*] Reworked the order that Skills are unlocked in, including changing which Skills are available on a fresh save file. [*] The Hauntrepreneur’s Shop no longer has a chance to spawn 2 health upgrades. [*] Weapon prices in shops no longer increase as much as you descend through the dungeon. [*] Extended spear hitboxes across the board [*] Nerfed Beggar Queen, buffed Penny Puncher [*] Decreased the global app spawn chance very slightly. [/list] [h3]Bug Fixes:[/h3] [list] [*] Allied monsters will no longer spawn directly on top of you when entering a new room, fixing several issues such as being immediately ignited by friendly Devil Slimes [*] Dodging damage by rolling or via certain Skills will no longer decrease your rating in Winkydink dates. [*] Fixed a few issues where NPCs would say their lines in a weird order [*] Fixed an issue where players could get stuck outside the playable area in the final dungeon [*] Fixed one of Hover Hands’s hands being immune to projectiles [*] Fixed an issue where you could die after killing certain bosses [*] Fixed an issue where certain bosses could be killed during their intro cutscenes [*] Fixed an issue where Exit Strategist could destroy the exit slide, soft locking the run [*] Fixed an issue where the Elite Winkubus wouldn't do her melee attack [*] Fixed countless minor edge case issues and we don't remember them all lol [/list]
