As the clock ticks down to the 24 Hours of Le Mans next week, Studio 397, the team behind Le Mans Ultimate will release the June update on Monday 10th June alongside the free BMW M Hybrid V8 DLC which can be redeemed via Steam. Further 2024 content will be available through the 2024 Season Pass or its individual packs, with the first instalment expected in July. Here is the run-down of the June update and an early update on our future plans, including 2024 content.
Gameplay Features as requested by the community
Throughout the first few months following launch, the Le Mans Ultimate team have compiled feedback across social media, Discord, our forum and events as we have listened to what the community would like to see. High up on the list was an optional Radar. Used to help improve awareness in wheel-to-wheel racing – you will be able to see where opponents are when running wheel-to-wheel, helping situational awareness in the heat of the moment, both in online and offline modes of the game. We’ve also implemented a new system for Race Starts, improving communication to players during the crucial opening phase of any race event. This reduces the frequency of incorrect penalty assignments, including when unexpected events may occur such as disconnections or incidents during the formation lap. Won your first race? Made a textbook overtake? Looking back at your race will now be possible with in game Replays , enabling you to rewind your past online and offline adventures. Additionally, we’re pleased to add Driver Labels that can be toggled on and off in replay and live racing mode - giving you more information about the drivers around you. Whilst not visible, a new version of the Online Netcode will be released which will provide a foundation to our online multiplayer technology – allowing future multi-driver events to be run with greater robustness.
Choose your colours with the 2024 Liveries
The first piece of the 2024 season jigsaw was put in place last week when the BMW M Hybrid V8 was confirmed as the first new car coming to Le Mans Ultimate – celebrating an important milestone for BMW as they mark 25 years since its first outright win at the forthcoming edition of Le Mans. The first new Hypercar will be free to download for all the Early Access supporters on the 10th June. Joining the German Hypercar will be an array of new liveries for all the 2024 Hypercars currently in the game – these will also be free to all players as part of the June update and will include the menacing black Toyota GR010, eye-catching yellow AF Corse Ferrari 499P and retro themed Porsche 963 from Proton Competition to name but a few. Racers will be able to experience these cars at the Le Mans Simulator Experience Presented by Thrustmaster from the 11th June at the track itself, or in Race Weekend or Online modes at home, including several special 2.4 hour events held over the race weekend.
2024 content and Season Pass
Following the arrival of the free 2024 liveries for existing Hypercars and new BMW Hypercar DLC, the first of the 2024 paid DLC packs is expected to go on sale next month and will include Imola (Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola) and further content to be announced closer to release. The 2024 content will be spilt across four individual packs, including the July drop, and will also be offered as a 2024 Season Pass bundling all paid content at a discounted rate. In total, it will include a further four Hypercars, four new circuits and seven GT3 cars. Wondering why only seven GT3 cars when there are nine currently on the FIA WEC grid? We’re gifting two free GT3 cars to all Early Access players, so everyone can experience the latest category in the championship. We’ll also be updating the LMP2 cars with the liveries from the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans - however, both the first GT3 cars and the liveries are not expected to be available until right at the end of the year as before then we’ll be completing the mouth-watering Hypercar grid with the new manufacturers. Regardless of whether or not you purchase any 2024 packs, you’ll be able to race against the 2024 grid in Le Mans Ultimate. Further information on pricing for individual packs, content and the discounted Season Pass will be made available ahead of the first release.
Looking ahead, a message from the Studio
Stephen Hood, CEO Studio 397 and Motorsport Games: “Following the titles release into Early Access in February, the entire team at Studio 397 have been working tirelessly to improve the user experience through three major patches and ten hotfixes. We plan to continue improvements alongside new feature arrivals and appreciate the feedback and support received during this opening phase.” Sim racers and motorsport fans looking to join the Le Mans Ultimate paddock can take advantage of the continued introductory Early Access game price of £24.99/ €29.99 / $32.99. The game features all of the Hypercars and circuits from the 2023 season as well as the classic LMP2 and GTE cars. Those already on the grid will be able to download the 2024 liveries and BMW Hypercar for free next week.
