Le Mans Ultimate

Le Mans is a continually evolving story... powered by emotion, speed and glory. Le Mans Ultimate - the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship and 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Just a few weeks after its world premiere in the French capital, Paris, the latest edition in the iconic BMW Art Car collection now makes its worldwide virtual debut in Le Mans Ultimate before the real car begins its journey into the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend. The livery was designed by renowned New York artist Julie Mehretu, who had the honour of penning the 20th Art Car for the Bavarian brand. 2024 is a particularly special year for BMW as they also mark 25 years since its outright win at Le Mans in 1999 with the legendary V12 LMR. The striking BMW M Hybrid V8 picks up the mantle for the German team in 2024, and hot on the heels of its Circuit de la Sarthe track debut for the official test day yesterday, the Art Car livery from BMW will be arriving  into the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship and 24 Hours of Le Mans with the paint touch dry today ( Monday 10th June) as part of the free June update – a little added bonus to the Le Mans Ultimate community ahead of the biggest motorsport event of the year. The Studio 397 team, quickly mobilised just minutes after the official launch. Working with BMW, the development team turned the complex livery with the official seal of approval in under two weeks, ahead of a week of testing and marketing capture. 20 days from the public unveil in Paris on the 21st May, the Art Car will now be in the hands of the public around the world today (10th June). For fans attending the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, race goers will be able to drive the #20 BMW M Hybrid V8 Art Car around Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans Ultimate from tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday 11 June) – when the free to play simulation experience presented by Thrustmaster opens in the spectator village, located close to the main paddock. “We are delighted to bring the latest BMW Art Car to Le Mans Ultimate, said Stephen Hood, CEO of Studio 397 and Motorsport Games. “The Art Cars from BMW are truly iconic for motorsport fans and the 2024 version is no different. I know sim racers around the world will be eager to get their hands on the car before it races at Le Mans this weekend and we are delighted to be the first platform to showcase this livery virtually, giving the community an extra special treat to whet the appetite ahead of the eagerly anticipated race start on Saturday.” “The whole BMW Art Car project is about invention, about imagination, about pushing limits of what can be possible,” explained artist Julie Mehretu. “I don’t think of this car as something you would exhibit. I am thinking of it as something that will race in Le Mans. It’s a performative painting. My BMW Art Car was created in close collaboration with motorsport and engineering teams and is only completed once the race is over.” Le Mans Ultimate is available now in Early Access and you can purchase your copy today on Steam:  https://bit.ly/LeMansUltimateOnSteam.
