The fourth development update: Demo Released!

Offroad: Dead Planet

Offroad: Dead Planet is an offroading adventure game. Play as a young driver, journeying to Earth and unwilling to abandon the old planet to ruin. Experience complex vehicle physics, dynamic terrain, soft tires, a reactive driver, trash to pick up and robots, all while carving your own path.
{ Status }
We released our demo this week! We hope you all enjoy it :) Can't wait to hear some of that sweet, sweet feedback. Our overall goal remains getting the game into early access during the Summer however we are also making sure the demo is fun, includes everything we want it to and is stable. Leading up to the Summer, we are going to be participating in June's NextFest. In preparation, we will be working on any issues that arise with the demo and will be streaming a few times via steam this month. We'll also be working on adding a second area to the demo (and Mars) that is focused on rock crawling.
{ Martian Zones }
The game's world is divided into two planets (for now). Mars and Earth. The player's character is from Mars and _naturally_ this is where the adventure will begin. Mars areas will be much more easily available. Players will be able to use these areas to practice skills or learn certain features of the game in a focused way. This also allows us as developers to have playable areas with a new feature isolated - perfect for testing and perfect for players to play around with the new feature. Some areas will be larger and more diverse (like the demo level) but most will be small and direct. For example, an area on Mars may be just a field full of bushes with a cabin to build on one side and a supply platform on the other. Players get to learn how making paths through dense bushes works while we have an area that allows direct testing of bushes/brush mechanics. We'll be adding a second demo area that is smaller and focused on rock crawling. After that, the demo will likely remain the same until we're a bit into Early Access. We plan to keep the demo up through NextFest and through Early Access, just keeping it updated along with the full game. We love seeing people play the demo and anyone who wants to stream it or make videos, let us know in discord! We'd love to watch, especially if you don't have a large following. It's really useful and fun for us as developers to be able to see someone play the game and see how they react, what they think, how they go about figuring things out, etc. Many of the aspects of the game we're working on, like improvement to sounds, engine system simulation, terrain system improvements, grass/foliage, etc are features that will affect the demo directly.
