Hello, This may seem a little confusing but I've been at a cross road for the past week about this but let me explain The Cenozoic Era was built on the foundation of the past game "Artemishea" the game uses a lot of base systems from that past game and that game started development in Unreal Engine 4.26 all the way back in early 2020. The systems, code and features are very dated and not coded very well (I was new to UE at the time, prior to that I was a Unity developer so I was still learning about UE) I will be honest, the current state of the project is so bad for me that it's sometimes difficult to just change out meshes in the game without it completely freezing/crashing on me, which kills motivation to even add simple things to the game. It takes minutes to start in the editor and even longer to test things, the systems were never made to be dynamic so it's extremely hard to add new things to the existing systems in game. I have a secondary project I been playing around with (I just like developing in general, its my pass time) and I used it more as a proof of concept project to what I can and can't do and I came to realize how much better I am with UE and how much better these systems ran/operated and how easily expandable they are, they're so easily expandable I even added mod support to it just to see, and well, you can mod it with ease, which makes me think about how great mod support would be for this game (The project I'm referring to is a unreleased game that I'm just toying around with to test my skills in) and I really want to start this whole project over and redo everything and add mod support to it, a process like this will take time as anyone can imagine, so I don't want to dump current development for it if it's not desirable yet because it will be basically a new game with proper planning and execution for everything. And you may wonder "If you're so much better now then why does the game have so many problems still and with each new feature" and to that I say, it's because of the old systems that are still in play and it's very hard to add onto broken/poorly made systems which result in things breaking very easily and even harder to reverse engineer and fix. Keeping things transparent from my end to yours if we go this route then instead of regular updates I will post regular devblogs here and to the discord, because it will be a lot of work and a lot to report on, but it truly motivates me just thinking about doing the recode instead of forcefully pushing on like this, however, as I always do, I will leave it up to you. -Opendix
