[b]Mutation System:[/b] In the Cenozoic Era, animals can now undergo mutations that affect their skill tree. These mutations are rare and have a 10% chance to occur when breeding two animals that possess no upgraded stats.
[b]Skill Tree Points:[/b] Each animal has a skill tree capped at 25 points, representing their base abilities. Mutations, however, allow for an extension beyond the base 25 points, pushing the total skill tree points up to a maximum of 40.
[b]Breeding for Mutations:[/b] To breed for higher stats and potential mutations, the parents must have no upgraded stats, only mutated stats. This ensures that the mutation system is not diluted by pre-existing upgrades and allows for the true power of the mutation to emerge.

This creates a strategic layer to the breeding system where players can aim for very specific outcomes, though the random nature of mutations means that perfect results aren’t guaranteed.
[b]Stat Inheritance:[/b] When breeding, the offspring’s stats will be a mix of both parents’ mutated stats, with the possibility of new mutations being introduced. However, for optimal outcomes, players should aim for animals that don’t have upgraded stats, as these would interfere with the mutation chances.
