Sam & Max Save the World 1.0.6 Update

Sam & Max Save the World

The Freelance Police are back in a remastered version of their first season of episodic adventure games, lovingly updated by a small group of the original developers with the blessing of Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell.

Sam & Max Save the World version 1.0.6 is now live on Steam (and GOG and Nintendo Switch)! This is a small update that fixes a handful of bugs and quality of life issues across the game. And also one tiny piece of news that some of you may enjoy:
Sam & Max: now with Remote Play Together!
One of the best ways to play adventure games is with friends around. If you're anything like us, you have memories of hours spent with a friend or two crowded around the PC playing an adventure game, bashing your heads together trying to solve puzzles, losing your minds when you finally solve something that's had you stuck forever, bursting out laughing at an unexpected moment, low-key fighting over who gets to control the mouse and who has to watch. This has been a lot harder to do in the last year, but even if you're stuck at home there is now a way to get some of that experience online! Steam Remote Play Together lets you invite your friends to not just watch you stream your game, but play it along with you (if you let them!). You and three friends can all share the same screen, talk on voice or text chat, and using Remote Play Together, virtually pass the mouse, keyboard, and gamepad back and forth online to choose who is controlling Sam. It gives you the classic feeling of friends in a room crowded around a computer, but without the crowding or even the room! To try Remote Play Together, just start up Sam & Max Save The World, then right click any friend in your Steam friends list, and invite them to remote play the game with you. This works for the remaster as well as the original episode DLC. (Note: This isn't a co-op mode or anything like that! It's still the same single player Sam & Max you're used to, but you can now play it with a friend over the internet including letting them control the game and make choices as you play together! Like we said earlier, it's a tiny piece of news, but a fun one.)
Patch notes for today’s Sam & Max Save The World update (version 1.0.6):

Game-wide:

Fixed unintentionally backing out of dialogs and close-up views, when skipping lines with a right click
Fixed Sam sometimes walking to the cursor when using a controller
Fixed Sybil's tattoo chair being selectable when it's off camera
Fixed Sam's walk animation restarting when choosing a new destination while pathing (6184)
Fixed Sam jittering between walk & run animations when mashing left mouse button (6184)
Fixed bad model deformation on Specs' mouth corners
Fixed a few typos in subtitles with Sam, Myra, and using the antenna object (thanks for letting us know!)
Disabled saving during opening credits, because save games created during the credits made the game do bad things (who saves during the credits?!)
DLC launcher now supports high DPI displays

Episode 1:

Fixed the Soda Poppers chase music not stopping when the end cutscene plays, and added a record scratch sound effect when the music stops because it felt right
Fixed street graffiti glowing at night on Switch and some PC graphics modes

Episode 2:

Fixed Myra being selectable with gamepads even when she's behind the talk show door

Episode 3:

Improved lighting when Ted E. Bear steps out of shadows during initiation
Also if you're a GOG user who has been following along, with this update the version numbers on GOG are finally consistent with Steam and Nintendo Switch. So this is version 1.0.6 for you, too.
