New demo coming soon

So I just read back over my last post, in which I was hoping to release early access this month (March). How time flies. Well, the bad news is Early Access is NOT ready yet. But the demo very nearly is! And the reason I'm behind is mostly down to voice acting. So I am planning to release the brand new Private Dick demo around (hopefully before) Easter. It'll be a short, sweet demo but it will be fully voiced. There's quite a bit to do still - some code, some writing, all the voice, a bit of music, and a little bit more art. At the time of writing I'm just finishing off the CG scene that will, aha, tie it all together. In two weeks I expect the voice to be integrated. That release won't be fully voiced (because Early Access), but will be partially voiced. After that I plan to put out monthly releases, adding content and voice as soon as its ready. I know that not everyone likes rapid updates but, frankly, I do - it shows progress and helps my marketing. And I don't expect players to jump in every month just to see the new scene - in my mind, the game is ready when you are. And saves should remain compatible. Just to reiterate from previous posts - I am still struggling for devtime at the moment. I'm working almost full-time to cover the cost of asset production (art, sound and now voice) which really limits my time. And the catch-22 is: I don't want to put out the EA build until I have time to maintain and develop it properly, but I don't have time to maintain and develop until I release EA. It's a difficult situation. Over the summer, and with the help of Early Access sales, I can build more and more gamedev time into my week and things will start to accelerate. But that's for the future. And I hope this doesn't sound like whining because it's a great privilege and honour to be working on the game of my dreams, and this is a seriously exciting time for me.I'm just trying to explain why dev is slow. Anyway, right now I want to spend as much of my time as possible on core dev stuff. So I'm gonna sign off here. Hopefully my next post will have a demo attached! -Cisco (lead dev)
