Massive changes in the first hour of the game: find them all out!

Batora: Lost Haven

Batora: Lost Haven® is a choice-driven isometric action adventure with RPG elements and a unique duality system affecting combat, story, dialogues, puzzles, and endings, that will make you question the meaning of sacrifice.

From your feedback, it emerged that the first hour of Batora: Lost Haven did not fully reflect what is the overall adventure which develops in the following hours. For this reason we have been working hard to make the first approach with Avril more dynamic and also to modify the Oniric Arena, following all your indications! After our latest post giving you an overview of everything that the new patch introduced, here is a greater detail regarding the changes made in the first hour of the game!

Inside the Oniric Arena - the first version of the arena allowed you to defeat an enemy with one hit, no matter what nature you were in. Instead, now you will be able to engage in real combat against the enemies in the Arena, to be prepared for what the overall game will be. Avril continues to be immune, therefore she will not suffer hits, but the fight must be carried out on a regular basis, therefore following the options of dualism. 4 to 5 strikes in both physical and mental nature will be required to defeat each enemy! We also decided to remove the skills, which were all initially unlocked, so that Avril can only use basic attacks, as well as in the first few hours of the game.
The Oniric Arena - We have decided to change the appearance and setting of the Oniric Arena as well. We’ve replaced the huge square arena filled with ruins scattered around the perimeter with flying islands in the sky, from which it is possible to observe the planets below. In the background there will be infinity and waterfalls have been added, to enhance the feeling of a dreamlike environment. From an art direction point of view, we wanted to recreate an unconscious perception of Batora's power as she is trying to contact Avril. The Oniric Arena becomes, to all intents and purposes, an environment in which space has no limits and time bends and takes shape, so much so that all normal forces lose scientific coherence. Thus Avril finds herself living an out-of-body experience, which ends up giving her the ability to perceive contact with Batora and see the planets in which she will face her adventure. She hears the screams, feels the power of Sun and Moon, and even understands the endless duel.
After the Oniric Arena - From a gameplay point of view, we have decided to improve the pacing fight, with a balance that increases the duration of the fights, but always leaving you with that sense of power that distinguishes the first hour of the game. Immediately after the Oniric Arena, we also decided to balance the first battles on Gryja more, so as to make the gameplay experience more rewarding until the arrival of Carador. Another aspect that we have decided to enhance is the reduction of tutorials during the game, to streamline the presence of text on the screen and make the gaming experience much more dynamic!
- In the next few days we will provide you with more details regarding the main innovations listed in our last patch notes, so that we can accompany you on a journey to discover Batora: Lost Haven! In the meantime, remember that Batora: Lost Haven is listed in the Steam Winter Sale and is available with a 20% discount on the final price. One more chance to try out all the changes we've made with this latest patch! Then, if your support has been invaluable for all the feedback we received that prompted us to make these changes, it will be equally important if you leave a review for Batora: Lost Haven here on Steam!
