It's been a long journey over the past year, with significant improvements to the title through various major updates. From adding staff professions, the club gameplay, to the official Steam workshop support, as well as the full release on the console platforms. The team learned a lot over the past year and received all the feedback, encouragement, and support by our dear headmasters.
As an indie team, we're so happy to have witnessed the game coming along. I remember back in 2016, Let's School was merely an immature idea in my head. Fast forward to 2024, we now have a growing community and countless headmasters who have enjoyed our game. There's really no word to describe my feelings, and I just want to take a little moment to share a little birth story of Let's School.

The initial idea of Let's School was inspired by a Japanese anime called 'Nichijou' (anyone seen it before?). I was blown away by the general vibes and the emotional values of that series, it then became a dream of mine to create a cozy, adorable simulation game that centered around school life.
At the time, I was only a concept artist who just got into the video game industry, filled with passion and confusion for the future. Luckily, the team I was part of and the indie game community online helped me get through all the essential skills needed for game development. Then I started to spend my spare time creating some simple demos, from crafting systems to the simulation of characters, building experiences step by step along the way.
Then the busy work started to hit me hard, to the point where I even wanted to give up. Later on, I became a game designer, only to find out that the success of a video game is not just about visuals, but also relies on great gameplay and game mechanics. That totally refreshed my mind, which I then started to dive deep into the gameplay design and tried to understand the video games on the market through various perspectives. It took me a long while to discover that the game is not just about visual impressions.
A while after that, I started to be in charge of project management for a mobile game. Project management taught me to think game development as running and structuring an organization.
For instance, workflow and development pipeline are needed for game dev, plus the coordination between different teams, balance relationships etc. I then took the inspiration into the game and built mechanics so that players could oversee structures and manage organizations, which is exactly where those management panels were born.

Fast forward a few years later, I finally got the opportunity to turn my ideology into a real project, thanks to the massive support from Pathea Games! I started to create our team from scratch using the demo I made, with a lot more folks joining the team.
However, the game development is never easy, with technical and design problems stuck in our way all the time. We've had our ups and downs, gone through challenges and difficulties, But the team has all made it through in two and half years and release the game successfully which was a massive achievement on its own.
This is the behind the scenes of Let's School. It's been a very long journey, with smiles and tears, but your continuous love and support made it worthwhile and we truly appreciate it.
After months of development, Let's School is now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox platforms!
