What's up, my pups? It's been a while since I last checked in with all of you! While everything on my end has mostly been full-speed ahead on my next project (more info on our Twitter, if you're interested in tracking the progress on that), I've mentioned in the past that we still have some surprises left in store for [i]Ephemeral Tale[/i]! That remains the case, so I thought I'd showcase some of the things we've been working on in the interim between games! [h2]OASIS DEPTH CHANGES[/h2] One of the most [i]common[/i] things I've seen since releasing [i]Ephemeral Tale[/i] is folks getting incredibly lost inside of the Occluded Oasis-- I've felt for some time that this had little to do with the layout of the dungeon, and more to do with the visual presentation. See, the Oasis is really just two layers-- a top layer, and a bottom layer. The top one being the "vital" path, the bottom one leading to secrets! However, the lack of a visual distinction between these has resulted in players frequently thinking they're on the opposite layer (or at least, this is my theory). In an upcoming update, we've overhauled the Oasis to be more visually distinct between its layers, as seen here: [img]https://i.imgur.com/P2J9Ppm.png[/img] Hopefully, this change will allow for players to better intuit the intended flow of the dungeon and improve the overall experience of the Occluded Oasis! [h2]EXPLORE, FIGHT, LOOT (some more)[/h2] Releasing updates to existing areas is a great way for me to implement your feedback into the game, ensuring that new playthroughs for new players and veterans alike feel fresh and exciting! However, our veteran players also deserve to get pampered from time to time, so we've begun working on a new zone for [i]Ephemeral Tale[/i] as well!
