Enter Astaroth: The Dragon Knight (Archfiend Reveal)

Solium Infernum

Take the Infernal Throne in this hellish turn-based grand strategy game. The Prince of Darkness has vanished, leaving Archfiends to conspire: muster your legions while intoning dark sorceries, devilish schemes, and machiavellian plots. Who will be the new ruler of Hell and ascend the Throne?

Perhaps you've read the recent PCGamesN Article, titled "Solium Infernum, the strategy sim set in Hell, is one of the coolest new games I've seen in years..." If not, then... The beating, bloody heart of the infernal realm comes to a glorious clash of gore and spectacle in the bounds of Astaroth’s domain. Forget the laden murmurings of the Scorned one – always so eager to threaten and connive but hesitant to act. Leave those that would plot in the shadows, or parade their mouths, adorned by pompous feathers. True fear is not concealed in plots or veiled threats. Real fear -- lucid, tangible, adrenaline-soaking fear – is the thunderous beating of a heart under duress. It's the relentless predator closing in on its prey. Real fear is the cataclysmic wrath of a natural disaster, so large and oppressive that one could only hope their death is swift. His wrath knows no bounds. The only thing feared more than his strategic expertise are his fits of rage – his voice like the grating underbelly of Hell itself, churning and cacophonous. Astaroth prefers to confront his rivals directly. To dance around with diplomacy is a waste when most outcomes are decided on the battlefield. He prefers to smash his opponents directly with terrible and irrevocable force, lustful to spill more blood for the glory of battle. Some may see this as a weakness to be exploited, but Astaroth cares not. The Dragon Knight is every ounce of a monster on the outside as he is inside. He is awe-inspiring, animalistic, domineering, and unrelenting by nature. Big muscles, check. Big horns, check. But we wanted to find an angle that allowed Astaroth to stand out from a crowd of demons. What if Astaroth was made from the stuff of hell itself - volcanic rock, magma, and fire? This allowed us to integrate Astaroth’s ‘armor’ into his body, made of rocky scorched plates. Note that Astaroth’s ‘helmet’ (actually part of his head) is inspired by the concept of multi-animal-heads often seen in traditional depictions of demons. Beneath Astaroth’s rock-hard exterior lies a volcanic rage, literally represented by the light shining between his body’s plates. The only question left is… Are you ready to conquer Hell with Astaroth? Well, you can… At the upcoming Steam Next Fest, where Solium Infernum will have a Demo available. Keep an eye out for more information here, but until then… See you in Hell, Ty -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you've made it this far, thanks for following along.
