Dev Update #1: ATV and Exploration

Hey everyone, I wanted to give you an update on [i]We Harvest Shadows[/i] and let you know that [i][b]so many cool things are happening[/b][/i]. I can't go into specifics yet, but if there was a best case scenario for finding a great partner to make the game fantastic, then it's (probably) happening. At first, I was wondering if I should make the game "decent" and get it done fast, but now I've decided that I want to make it the best version of itself, which means I'll need more time and a publisher to make it happen. I think some people were hoping to play the full game really soon, but I'm humbly asking for more time as we work on the full version and make it an unforgettable gaming experience. I'm sorry for the long wait, but it will be worth it. I would be heartbroken if I released a buggy, unoptimized mess, and it took away from the full story and experience. Thanks for your patience! Anyways, we're working hard and making progress. Last week I worked on new crops and the opening cinematic, and my lead programmer Connor fixed a ton of bugs. I also wanted to show you a really fun tool for the player... the All-Terrain Vehicle, or ATV! [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45157714/5344e22d15bbe48b63f01d8b1b6c6b402bcad8bb.gif[/img] A big part of the mid/end game will be exploring the vast property near your house, and uncovering the history and secrets of this land you live on. Who lived here? Why is it abandoned? Why is there a sinister presence that emerges at night? It's this type of exploration and storytelling that made me fall in love with games in the first place. There will also be lots of secrets to uncover for the perceptive, eagle-eyed player! [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45157714/01ff98f839ae75e248d832079b8b3cd78c9456ed.jpg[/img] You'll also be able to loot each spot and find valuable items, which is why your ATV has a trailer attached to it. You just drop your items in the back and unload them at your house! Also, your map will keep track of each location, telling you if you've cleared an area and found every secret. I really love the Silent Hill 2 map system, so it will probably something like that. The ATV makes it much more fun to find all these places and get to them quickly, and of course, you can upgrade the ATV over time and enhance the storage capacity, speed, and add other cool features.
