Broken Psyche Devlog #1

Broken Psyche

Play as a detective investigating his wife's disappearance. Suspecting the asylum she was researching, he infiltrates it, only to uncover a realm of horror. Solve puzzles, maintain sanity, and confront monsters as you unravel the asylum's secrets.

When making scenery for Broken Psyche I really try to balance out the colors and brightness of the setting. As a horror game I try to keep things dark and mysterious, but in an artistic sense I like to give light to things that tell a story. Perhaps in a dark room you see just an average table with blood, but with the (hopefully) correct lighting you can see much more. Now it looks like a busy desk of someone who is up to nefarious things. I am curious to hear if you think the darker adds to the mystery, or seeing more of the room allows for more exploration and story telling. Deranged and out for blood, the running animation I made was made to emphasize the brutal and uncontrollable blood thirst he has. I say naked because this isn't exactly what they will look like in game. In game they will be much more "artistic" looking. Special thanks to anyone supporting this project, and I hope you stick around and continue to support me until you get a product you're happy with. I will post a devlog of everything I've been working on as well as previews every week. Also expect for next devlogs to be longer. As of right now I am still in between how much I share and how much I keep as a surprise, which could be a dangerous business strategy, we'll see. LOL
