A medieval city under siege and a handful of civilians are all that keep the walls from falling. Mixing survival strategy and resource management, build your camp, craft supplies, and scavenge the occupied city to supply the last troops holding back the invaders.
Greetings, Survivors!
We’re proud to announce the reveal of Siege Survival: Gloria Victis Prologue! This standalone, Free-To-Play application will introduce you to the story we want to share with you in the game, and give you a taste of improved ingame features and mechanics!
If you’ve played the Demo during Steam Summer Festival, you absolutely must try this version too, as here you’ll find a lot of brand new features, even more challenges, and a countless improvements that we‘ve made after receiving so much of the players’ feedback!
The Prologue will contain the first 7 days (moar than in demo!) of gameplay, letting you learn the dramatic story of the citizens of Edring, and the game’s unique mechanics, even better. You’ll meet new characters, actively help in the defense of Bastion during day time battles (woohoo!), trade with shady merchants, and sneak your way to crucial supplies during night weaving around deadly – and much smarter! – enemy guards.
But let’s break that down, feature by feature, to give you an insight into huge work we’ve already done, and we keep continuing:
Battles!
We’ve received hundreds of the feedback tickets from the Demo players – it was amazing to see how much fun you’ve got in the game! But there was one specific element that’s been often indicated as one that needs more love:
Battles.
The overnight assaults made their job of justifying our position as civilians in the besieged castle, and the Bastion’s demand for supplies created a lot of gameplay challenges. But your feedback clearly said that the nighttime battles haven’t been immersive enough and that it’d be better if they had more impact on us, behind the second line of the defense.
And here we are, bringing to you what you’ve wanted, needed and asked for!
Long story short, the invaders have found out that it’s easier to attack castle walls in daylight (seems smart, you must admit, as they rather haven’t brought the night vision for the raid), so they rescheduled their attacks and they will rush at your castle during the day! During attacks, they will:

Shoot flaming arrows to set your building on fire and hurt your characters,

Launch deadly stones that will break buildings and defenders’ hearts (even literally, if you dared to stand in one place),

And send (airborne) cow corpses that will spread disease among your people.
You will need to boil hot tar to hold the gate, repair broken armament to keep soldiers’ defense abilities, and after battle – you will need to find or craft new supplies, arrows, and food to hold your last stand, until the awaited relief comes. You will also need to take care of wounded soldiers, help them patch holes in the walls, and provide psychological care for your people (Ok, I am joking with that one actually). Basically, sieges will look more or less like this:
Be sure to add the Prologue to your Wishlist to be there when the game launches!
