Hello everyone! Hope everybody had a good week! I know a lot of you will be going back to work (if you haven't already) from tomorrow, so I wish you guys to have a good and prosperous year! May thy work hours feel short and paycheck get bigger. Let's pick up from where we left off last week with a small announcement!
41 Wishlist's! Thank you!
It's crazy for me, but we have actually managed to reach 41 wishlists on Steam with little to no marketing! I have 0 clue on how's that happened, but my god am I grateful for that. Thanks to all of you who are wishlisting the game! It means a lot! This does lead me into the following topic, which is:
Trailer for Station Haven 3
A trailer is also currently in the works for the game. It will also present short "mechanics" of the game, but it will be mainly focused on the narrative part of the story and the mystery of the game. There's no release date on it yet, but do stay tuned for it as it will be coming soon.
The current status of development

As of the 12th of January, 2025.

Tutorial refined and added more "hints/leads" for the player to better understand where to go, what to do and how to do it (Thank you Wife for playtesting)
70% of voice acting added (50% last week)
Main gameplay and narrative objects added, but not entirely yet (I'd say it's at like 30% done, but should be done by next week)
However, there is one thing I did discover this week, and that is:
The size of the Demo (And the optimization of it)
Upon my latest Test Shipping Build (game devs out there, always do this every now and then to make sure there's no problems), I have noticed that some of the assets I am using are quite.. well, large. Now, this was to be expected to some extent, because I am using Unreal Engine 5.4 and I am using quite realistic (if not hyper realistic) assets. However, I am not pleased with the fact that the game is currently 14 GB big. On the latest poll I did on Discord (Which you should join, link down below), people seemed to not have an issue with the size, but I still find it quite large. I will be attempting to lower this size for the Demo at the very least, but do know that if I do fail, this might be the final size of the Demo...
Demo release date
Currently, there are no delays happening, so the initial start date of 23rd of January is still holding strong. I should be able to, from that day, release the demo in the next 2 weeks. Majority of important things are in place, and the game is becoming more and more of an actual game with every day, so stay tuned for that.
Thank you!
Once again, thank you! Whether you read through this whole thing, skimmed through it or skipped to the end, you even knowing this post exists is making me more and more confident to keep working and bring you the world I envision. I truly hope to bring this game to life in the demo and hook you guys in the world I created. And we're very close to that date now! I hope you guys will have a nice week! See you next Sunday with another update (and maybe more ;) )
