Step back into a pivotal moment in gaming history with JBMod, the first mod released for the retail version of Half-Life 2.
JBMod unlocks the legendary physics tool first showcased in Half-Life 2's mind-blowing 2003 E3 demos, giving you the power to manipulate the world with unparalleled freedom. Turn the world into your ultimate physics playground.

Originally created by jb55 and the community on the HL2World forums, JBMod is a tribute to the limitless potential of the Source engine. This is where it all began.

JBMod grants you the tools to create, experiment, and wreak havoc in the world of Half-Life 2.

  • Wield the Legendary Physgun: Seize, move, and freeze objects with the powerful physgun, a feature cut from the final version of Half-Life 2. If you can see it, you can control it.

  • Build Complex Contraptions: Go beyond simple manipulation with advanced physical constraints. Use welds and ropes to connect objects and build dynamic, interactive creations.

  • Spawn Anything: Instantly bring props, ragdolls, and entities into your world using simple console commands. The only limit is your imagination.

  • More Tools, More Fun: Discover other restored features and additions that expand your creative arsenal, offering new ways to interact with the game world.

A New Era in 2025
