[b]ARCANIUM PATCH PREVIEW - 05/06/2022[/b] Hello everyone! Today I would like to talk about what we’ve been tinkering for the past months at Supercombo. We have a lot to talk about! We wanted to change things up this time, and release a Hero pack instead of releasing one Hero after another. As a small team, we found it more efficient to batch VFX, SFX, illustrations, card design, QA and bug fixing. We also added over 40 Artifacts, reworked a dozen that weren’t seeing a lot of love from the community, and made a flurry of balance tweaks to the Hero abilities and Neutral cards. Without further ado, here are the next 3 Heroes coming out this month. [b]NEW HERO! BJORN (Elemental / Void)[/b] [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34906473/1bbcb54168ed9d8c7d444ac681637c805591a99a.png[/img] Bjorn is a Rhino Executioner and a hybrid Tank / Assassin. He relies on dishing out damage while sustaining himself through the Lifesteal mechanic. He’s also a reckless hero that deals damage to himself while decimating his foes. His Passive “Grudge” generates a unique resource called “Rage” whenever he takes damage from any source. He then can use to perform powerful attacks. Bjorn fits well in a team needing an off-tank, and can take on the role of full-tank whenever built properly. CARRION (Void / Nature)[/b] [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34906473/1c99b7a443f99b549fd3691fc7bc882acfa2d0e8.png[/img] Carrion is a Hyena Necromancer and a Mercenary. Carrion is able to flood the board with cheap skeletal carcasses that grow in power the more they are played in a battle. Thanks to his ability to fetch cards from his Discard, he can then play his minions over and over again to take advantage of their boosted stats. He can sustain his teammates by applying Leech to his foes (Leech heals the attackers whenever they hit the target) and by soaking the incoming damage with his army of the dead. CELESTE (Light / Arcana)[/b] [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34906473/f4d65173fbc58ebbff95a78f3722d60732230f7a.png[/img] Celeste the Priestess of Illuna is a hybrid Support / Mage. She excels at healing her teammates while packing a punch. She can apply Shock to her enemies and Blind them, or dish out some pretty impressive burst damage to her foes. Her Passive “Protection of Illuna” generate a unique resource called “Faith”, that she can stack whenever she plays cards on her enemies. Her stacks of “Faith” will consume and Shield the most injured ally at the start of each turn. Celeste will fit perfectly in a Multistrike-heavy team. All Artifacts also have received a serious balance pass and now feel better than ever! Additionally, each of the 3 new Heroes will come with 3 unique Heirloom Artifacts. [b]IN THE WORKS[/b] Arena mode: We can’t be more excited about this one … We have been working hard on the new Arena mode (coming later this summer) and it is looking amazing! The mode is a brutal and snappy experience that will last between 45min and 1h. It is an action-packed mode that has no exploration part, and where you will go on a series of increasingly more difficult Battles. Between Battles, you will have the ability to spend Gold at the Quartermaster and purchase Abilities, Artifacts and Minions, as well as a multitude of buffs and upgrades for your Heroes. After each Battle, a random difficulty modifier (or “Bane”) will be applied to your run, forcing you to adapt to the situation. The Arena mode has a finite number of stages that you’ll have to go through, before getting a chance to defeat the Boss and final encounter. Finally, whenever your Heroes fall in battle, they will accrue Arena-specific “Injuries” such as Twisted Ankle, Contusion, Broken Arm, etc. These Injuries will stick to your Heroes until removed at the Quartermaster at a Gold cost. Lastly, the Arena will also receive new exclusive enemies, including 4 new Bosses and 15 new Enemies, which we are developing and testing as we speak!
