Project Scrapper is a casual 2D beat-'em-up where players manipulate gravity to accomplish objectives. Armed with just gravitational rivets and an anti-gravity jump, players will need to come up with their own strategies on the fly to succeed.
Free Early Access in 2 Weeks
Project Scrapper is releasing to early access in 2 weeks for the low price of FREE, so tell your family and gather your friends because there's nothing to lose when you try it! I wanted to take this opportunity firstly to thank everybody for their interest. This has been a long time coming, through multiple iterations; some of you might have been following Project Scrapper for half a decade! And it is encouraging to see even the tiniest bit of interest, so once again, thank you!
With that, I also wanted to discuss what exactly Project Scrapper looks like right now and what's planned for the future, so you all know what to expect.
Current State
Project Scrapper's primary gameplay state is playing online with up to 3 other players through public lobbies. You can find these lobbies in a browser or make one yourself. You're also able to invite your friends through Steam's UI. So once again, tell your family and gather your friends, because Project Scrapper is most fun with others.
You'll be able to choose between 5 maps and 3 game modes as you play

Testing Facility - A standard map (or as standard as it is in Project Scrapper), empty except for 4 walls enclosing the players in close quarters. Watch as the facility falls apart at the seams as you slap each other around.

Solar - Jump from planet to moving planet, dodging asteroid storms and avoiding the incineration at the hands of the sun (Scrapper bots are durable, but not that durable)

Playroom - Two rooms connected by a regularly opening door. Each also contains a toy chest that spits out toys

Towers - Two office buildings with multiple rooms to divide players until destroyed. As well as a lot of office supplies to throw at each other

Pipeworks - A larger map with pipes around the borders that can transport objects and a button that creates TNT, useful for blowing up opponents.
As well as 1 map variant
Wrecking Ball - A variant of Testing Facility with an ominous, levitating, highly destructive sphere that can be manipulated by rivets
Game Modes
Scrapmatch - Deathmatch with a Project Scrapper twist where players destroy the map to knock each other out. In this mode, players' rivets will rip out the cubes making up the walls and floors, "scrapping" the level to get an edge on their opponents.
Collection - Gather as many cubes as possible in your collection area and steal cubes from other players. The more cubes, the faster your score goes up
Hat Stack - A test to observe asset gathering AND protection, Scrappers will gather hats from throughout the level. Similar to Collection, players are incentivized to collect as many as possible. However, Scrappers have to carry the hats they collect stacked on their heads. The more hats they collect, the higher their hat stack will grow, and the higher a hat stack, the harder it is to protect.
Future Plans
There's quite a few improvements planned, including...

Additional game mode(s)

Additional map(s)

Character customization

Bot players

General UI improvements

Additional lobby settings (Do you want to be able to destroy the map outside of Scrapmatch? Maybe have stronger rivets to pull objects together at breakneck speeds?)

General quality of life improvements such as local splitscreen and lobby filtering and searching
Heck, even now, some of these improvements are being worked on and might even make it into the game before release.
And now this is where YOU, the player, come in. If there is some content or improvement that you really want, mention it! If there's something that you want that isn't on that list, mention it twice! That's why Project Scrapper is in early access: so I can get your feedback and make the game you want to see!
So once again, thank you for your support and here's to all of our efforts to making a great game!
