With the last update our main focus was on making the beginning of the game as approachable as possible. Now we wanted to focus more on the usability for everyone of you who have been playing the game on a daily basis. So, what is this Update all about? [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36173475/dc390b58223e36c3a6f76739a4c1a950682ad78e.png[/img] [h2]INTRODUCING LEAGUE RANKS[/h2] We’ve taken our first steps to an actual rocket league here: With the new ranking system, you will be able to progress and play against players worldwide and win new ranks in your favourite faction. When playing the regular online play mode from the menu, now named “Ranked Play” you will be able to test your skills against similar ranked commanders. Show us your abilities and prove that you are worthy of the elusive “Stellar” rank. [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36173475/946bd2a0eee5e27cd6750dc44ca97c12bdee560a.png[/img] [h2]NEW PLANET: POLI’AHU[/h2] After the heated, dense, close combat atmosphere, we want to introduce you to something different. Poli’Ahu, named after the Hawaiian goddess of snow, is a harsh, long range planet where its poor visibility makes it hard to predict where the enemy is coming from. On Poli’Ahu, there is only a two tile difference between the front and back paths. This makes expanding and surprising the enemy through the planets backside a stronger strategy than ever. Poli’Ahu will allow for longer and very tactical matches and we are very excited to hear what you think of it. [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36173475/1243f98ed9f719ef962cfc656bb9f74a1a659d07.png[/img] [h2]NEW ENVIRONMENTS FOR ALL PLANETS[/h2] We’ve decided we wanted to give every planet their own look and feel. So starting now, every planet is situated in their own unique environment. New suns, new skyboxes, new atmospheres, moons, fogs and particle effects. [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36173475/40d850b077e50d2a001d0a947ca74c2bc052dae1.jpg[/img] [h1]AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS:[/h1] We also added a lot of minor small tweaks to the game, like [list] [*] UX Overhaul - We streamlined and redesigned a lot of the UI for all things matchmaking and deck customisation. [*] Achievement Balancing - We redesigned several achievements to be more easely and consistently obtainable for the rewards they give. [*] Trajectory System - A newly designed system can now create new, varied, defender trajectories. It just looks cooler [*] Memory Optimisation - Again, we drastically reduced memory consumption by having a new way to stream assets on demand [*] Easier Faction Selection - A nwew universal faction selector makes changing your faction in various screens easier and more intuitive [*] And we killed dozends of bugs, especially on Steam 🐞 [/list] Thank you so much for sticking with us.
