The new update is here - with lots of bugfixes, some small additions, and balancing changes.
Here are the detailed patch notes:

[*] Massive performance improvements in later zones and/or when equipped with a lot of items
[*] "Continue" in the main menu is now automatically selected when continuing is possible
[*] (Co-op) Every player, instead of just the host player, increases their win streak, if they have Zone 6 unlocked locally
[*] Added "Reset to default" option to the controls menu

[*] (Co-op) Fixed various problems that occurred when the host player switched in an online game (enemies did not die, or bosses spawned infinite Malbytes etc.)
[*] (Co-op) Fixed players not being able to jump for 1-2 seconds after using the portal, or if another player took damage
[*] (Co-op) Fixed broken Nibble character model for client players
[*] Fixed overly bright glitch particles on Chests with the "Glitch Chests" item
[*] Fixed duplicates of the "Retro Symbol" spawned, after using the Save & Quit feature
[*] Fixed "Stake Launcher" projectiles sometimes becoming extremely big, covering most of the screen
[*] Fixed Glitched Shopkeeper items still costing coins to pickup, when they should be free
[*] Fixed heart pickups not being displayed in the pickup animation for a split second
[*] Fixed leaving a room too quickly after opening a chest causing no item to spawn
[*] Fixed pressing "Collected Items" softlocking the game (if it still does not work for you, please let us know!)
[*] Fixed achievements being unlockable in the tutorial
[*] Fixed some Save & Quit bugs
[*] Fixed level portal spawning in very tight level geometry and causing players to not being able to enter/exit it
[*] Fixed "Magic Stick" item transforming RetroSymbol enemies, therefore making it impossible to get the RetroSymbol item
[*] Fixed custom seeds breaking the game
[*] Fixed sacrificing an item that gives max health not removing the max health
[*] Fixed getting multiple of the same rare item from the Item Transformator (only one rare per player should be possible here)
[*] Fixed RetroBoy sometimes spawning more enemies from his projectiles, where they got stuck in level geometry or even outside of it
[*] Fixed Malbytes from the RetroBoy sometimes spawning inside level geometry

[*] "Super Jump Boots" item needs to be re-charged now by touching the ground or a wall, before it can be used again
[*] Buffed "Warbanner" item by increasing its range
