Hey, folks! Today we launched MCE 0.97.0, which includes a whole new category of Trinkets - Plain Trinkets.
Aside from those, we added new stats to the Unique Trinkets (a.k.a the old-style Trinkets), some new level visuals and quick-equip function for Spells and Trinkets.

[*]Enemies can now drop Plain Trinkets that have random stat values on them
[*]These trinkets will only get positive stat values
[*]Plain Trinkes quality improves as you progress further in the game
[*]Maximum amount of Plain Trinkets that you can own is 100, but you can sell unwanted Plain Trinkets for 10 spores each
[*]Plain Trinkets will only drop if all of your unlocked Unique Trinkets are collected
