Diesel Legacy is a 2v2 fighting game where four players battle on the same stage at the same time. This unique twist on the traditional fighting game formula adds an entirely new layer of strategy where cooperation will become the key to success.

We're excited to show off our latest character: Dieselmech!
Dieselmech a three-ton absolute unit filled to the brim with extreme firepower that can leave your opponent in smoldering ashes. Landmines, heat-seeking missiles, thrusters, exploding payloads, machine guns and the ultimate organic lifeform death machine (otherwise known as a cat).
Did we mention Dieselmech has a cat buddy named Servo? He'll come to support Dieselmech and even help you with your combos.

Dieselmech is voiced by Edwyn Tiong, from various other indie games such as Freedom Planet 2, Tangle Tower and Old Skies.
Servo the cat is all voiced by these lil' dudes: Milkshake, Squirrel, Canyon & Olive
Lore
When Professor Darling began work on the gargantuan auto-soldier that would later become known as the latest and greatest Dieselmech line of FALCORP weaponry, he had meant for it to be a friend to man and defender of the nation: an unwavering protector, a symbol of progress peace for the future.
That changed when the professor was kidnapped by FALCORP and forced to repurpose his design for less noble purposes. Now outfitted with flame throwers, bombs, and many inhumane forms of attack, the mass produced machines are often field tested in the slums, culling the poor, and voiceless inhabitants of the city.
Dieselmech is a naive autonomous machine, but still a powerful force to be reckoned with in any battle. With his sheer mass and powerful gadgetry, Dieselmech will do everything in his power to protect his new friend… and can come to the aid of those in need.
One particular metal soldier retains a spark of the professor's original ideals, brought forth by a lonely stray kitten.
Character Mechanics
This hunk of metal's got a ton of new mechanics to this series, including passive super/hyper armor, a heat mechanic and certain enhanced and "revved" normals.
Super Armor (No-Sell)
Dieselmech has passive super armor (shoutouts to big body characters), which allows him to automatically take certain hits without getting stunned out of his move.
He regenerates to full armor very quickly, but does not have any armor when he's jumping. In additional, all "D" moves, meltdowns and certain other powerful moves will automatically bypass armor.

Legal courts trying to serve you? Try this!
Overheat | Hyper Armor (Engine of War / Boiling Over)
After doing certain moves outlined below, Dieselmech will gain "heat." Gain enough heat and you'll be in an overheated state for a short amount of time. You cannot reduce your heat level until you hit the overheated state, which at that point will start to defuse until you reach your normal state again.
While overheating has certain negative effects, it also grants the iron giant something called "hyper armor." This makes it so nearly all projectiles and strikes prevent being stunned (outside of a combo), even while airborne.
This hyper armor state does make him vulnerable to taking damage, especially since he cannot block while piping hot. He is also still vulnerable to all throws.

BREAKING NEWS: Local robot too angry to die.
Float (Hedge Hop)
Input: Hold up while jumping
Allows Dieselmech to use his jet boots to float in the air, with the ability to propel sideways. You'll be able to cancel and float again, but each time Hedge Hop activates, it uses a little more heat.
He'll be able to use jumping A and C attacks without falling, so you can use this to control air neutral while not fully committing to a jump arc.

Did we mention he drops mines?
Enhanced & Revved Normals
Dieselmech has a significant amount of range from his normals-- including jumping B, crouching B, standing C and standing D.

In addition to that, he can enhance his moves in one of two ways.
B or C moves (Frostbite, Juicer, Hotcake):
Holding down the button enhances it at the cost of heat. He cannot perform these attacks if he is overheated. These can be used for additional properties, including more damage, hitstun and chip.
D moves (Toot Sweet):
Dieselmech can "rev" the move by pressing buttons immediately after. One extra button revs it to level 2, and two extra buttons revs it to level 3. All of which cost different levels of heat. He cannot perform revved moves while overheated.
For example, to do a normal sweep-- just hit the crouching D button.
Level 2 Sweep: Crouching D, then A/B/C/D. (ie: cr. D, C)
Level 3 Sweep: Crouching D, then A/B/C/D then another A/B/C/D. (ie: cr. D, D, B)
Throw
Dieselmech's throw works a little different than most standard throws. When a grab is successful, he sucks the victim into his belly-- where they must face [cat] in a 10-0 matchup for a short amount of time.
During this time, Dieselmech can shoot him out of his cannon or do his jumping D to slam them onto the ground. If Dieselmech gets stunned by any attack or throw that breaks through his armor, he'll immediately drop his opponent. In addition, swallowed opponents can mash buttons to get out quicker. Be fast!
Special Moves

Napoo
Input: QCF+D (D, D, D, D, D)
These missiles, that have been hidden in Dieselmech's arsenel, will track all opponents in any lane. Keep tapping to send out more missles. This is a great way to lock down opponents, allowing you and your teammate to close the distance with a mix.
Watch out though, this move adds a ton of heat-- doing full missiles twice guarantees you'll be in overheat state where he will be locked out of the move until he's back to normal heat.
In addition, while these missiles will track from corner to corner, there is a bit of a blindspot right in front of Dieselmech, allowing savvy opponents to slip in and get a free hit on him unscathed.

It's fun to yell, "you have no hope," when you launch these
Gravel Crusher
Input: BD (Rev OK)
A nasty and huge overhead that can also hit opponents while they are knocked down.
This move can be revved up, each one adding significantly more heat.

Level 1 version is very slow and allows the opponent to tech out easily.

Level 2 version is faster, and causes a hard knockdown.

Level 3 version is extremely fast, and causes a ground bounce for juggles.
Back in my day, this is how we made sure our kids got lifelong trauma
Iron Rations (Minnie | Archie)
Load Input: QCF+A/C
Shoot Forward: QCF+A (Air OK)
Shoot Angled: QCF+C (Air OK)
Loads a massively explosive payload. Once loaded, fires the payload-- which self-detonates over a certain distance.
Keep in mind, you don't need a payload when you have an opponent in your belly. They ARE the payload.

Talking a lot of smack for someone within QCF+A range
Meltdown Supers

Big Bertha
Load Input: QCF+AC
Shoot Forward: QCF+A (Air OK)
Shoot Angled: QCF+C (Air OK)
Loads a mega-powerful payload. Once loaded, the normal fire input will shoot-- but this time it's super powered with lots of tasty shrapnel. That gives that spicy meatball the zing it needs for significant damage AND a wallsplat that can be comboed after.
If an opponent is currently being thrown and you had a Big Bertha payload already in there, firing the opponent will use that payload.

Automatically transforms Dieselmech into a tank, giving him 8-way movement and his weapons in a more accessible format.
Pressing BD transforms him back. Getting knocked down causes him to revert as well.
Machine Gun
Input: Tap A

Tapping A shoots low-impact bullets

This damages opponents, but does not cause hitstun

Iron Ration / Big Bertha
Input: Hold A

Holding A shoots more impactful shots, but gains heat.

First level shoots an Iron Ration, causing moderate damage and a knockback

Second level shoots a Big Bertha, causing massive damage and causes a wall splat

If charging a move while transforming back to normal form, Dieselmech keeps the shell loaded

Cannot charge to second level while overheated

Jump
Input: B

In a cruel world where people want to be cheap and throw you, this is your only escape

Disabled while overheated

C drops a large mine, up to two on the field at a time

If overheated, only drops small mine
Input: D

Launches tracking missile, one per living opponent

Cannot launch while overheated
