Hi everyone! Continuing our series on [i]Crystal Conquest[/i] lore: The Fall of Magic caused the war for mana crystals – but what caused the Fall? Eleven years into their conflict with a rival empire, the northern nation of Azuria resorted to forbidden magic. Azurian mages tapped deep into the earth’s mana, summoning a vast meteor shower. This calamity destroyed the rival empire in minutes – and severed humanity’s link from magic. The meteor shower also doomed Azuria itself: Clouds of soot blotted out the sun and began the Winter of Despair. Freezing and unable to harness magical solutions, the northern nation collapsed. Azuria was not the only country to suffer from both the Fall of Magic and Winter of Despair.
