[b]Difficulty balancing[/b] The developing team at Zenovia Interactive and Tribute Games have calibrated the difficulty and made precise adjustments to the base game of Steel Assault, more precisely its normal difficulty mode. It’s important to understand that Steel Assault’s original game was designed around Hard Mode. The Previous Normal Mode was a less painful expression of the core game experience, bridging the gap between easy (for 1st time platformer players) and hard (for the true mastery of the genre). This original normal mode leaned too close to easy, a little too far from the authentic “retro hard” experience envisioned by Sri Kankanahalli the creator/designer of Steel Assault. [b]The hard and the arcade mode remain unaffected by this update.[/b] So all you platformer aficionados and speedruns can rest assured that your records remain valid. [b]Modification list[/b] *Restore damage to the levels of Hard and Arcade (i.e. x2 damage, keeping health restore between sub-stages, and additional health items *Slight health increases on certains enemies and bosses (Flame Spider, Dragonfly Mech, Theta Hydron, Nanohazard, Server Wall…) *Slight timing changes and respawn time in certain enemies We hope to get to see some of your speedruns and your no damage perfect runs!
