Today, we’re going to update you on what’s going on at the DUCKSIDE HQ, with some details about upcoming major additions, our next patch and some organizational improvements we’ve made to improve the player experience in DUCKSIDE…[/quote] [u][h2]Addressing cheaters/hackers[/h2][/u] First off, we have now established [b]a dedicated cheat prevention admin team[/b] to manage player reports. Previously, we had no dedicated personnel to handle the deluge of reports we had been receiving, with the team members instead dealing with them on an ad-hoc basis. With the introduction of our new admin team, we are in a much better position to address player reports, cheats and hackers in a more organized and timely manner. [u][h2]Immediate focuses:[/h2][/u] [b]Implementation of a new Anti-cheat system[/b] EAC has been holding the fort for us since our first beta all the way back in April, but there are some essential features we need for this style of game that the platform doesn’t offer at this time. So in the interest of improving the security of the game and maintaining our community's enjoyment of DUCKSIDE, we will soon be implementing a new anti-cheat system which has proven successful in other similar titles that we hope will be more suited to our needs. [b]New monument - Stranded submarine[/b] The Early Access release saw the introduction of the Oil Rig, which marked a new approach to how we design our monuments and is something we will be continuing with our next major monument: The Stranded Submarine. Work is well underway and we hope to have this introduced either before the end of the year, or early 2025. We will keep you updated on our efforts! [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44899335/1252f96b55b84c7bcc81f26ec459dc00b63894be.png[/img] [b]Tool durability system:[/b] At this moment in time, tools don’t degrade with use, making eco raiding a lengthy but extremely viable option for anyone who wants to save their resources and are willing to dedicate their time to it. The team are working to implement a weapon durability system that will ideally shift the raiding emphasis back to designated raiding equipment, requiring more skill, planning and rarer resources. [b]Thanksgiving Update/Event[/b] These ducks love a national holiday, especially if it means that other birds have to deal with the humans wrath for a few days.... New hats, new skins, new base decoration items and more are coming to DUCKSIDE in celebration of Thanksgiving this November! [b]We’re hoping to release this update later this week or early next:[/b] [b]Bug Fixes[/b] [list] [*] Fixing a bug with placing a floor door [*] Fixing a bug with determining stability in construction (objects could hang in the air after destruction). [*] Fixing a bug with a triangular floor, where it was impossible to place walls under an improved floor. [*] Fixing dismantling triangular doors without an idol. [*] Fixing dismantling objects (e.g., workbenches) not giving crafting kits in the base without an idol. [*] Fixing that there was no animation of a character's shot when aiming for a local player. [/list] [b]Gameplay Improvements[/b] [list] [*] Shot validation - fewer missed shots. [*] Removed the check for player spawn, so they are not teleported to a random spawn during a collision. [*] Molotov will now damage sleeping ducks. [*] Adding zoom while aiming. [*] Base registration improvements. [/list] [b]Anti-Cheat and Reporting[/b] [list] [*] Players will no longer be able to spam reports. [*] Anti-cheat will now show report ID, allowing users to appeal to EAC with it. [/list] [b]Map and Content Updates[/b] [list] [*] Map - adding 2 cave systems. [/list] [b]Weapon Modifications[/b] [list] [*] Weapon modifications: bullet speed increase, recoil change. [/list] This is a tentative list, and we will be monitoring player feedback to further identify anything that we can resolve in time for the patch.
