Take your opportunity as a real Rally Mechanic. Overcome all the obstacles that the reckless racers throw at you - including unrepairable parts, time limitations and more. Take good care of your rally cars so that on the next special they will perform as good as if they came out of the factory.
Hello, fellow mechanic!
Motorsport is in huge part about speed. But why would you want to cruise through special stages in a (kinda) stock vehicle? There are plenty of examples of great body kits and liveries in the real world of motorsport, so you’ll have an opportunity to modify this aspect of your car in Rally Mechanic Simulator. Today’s devlog is all about painting and visual tuning!
Body work
All cars in the game are going to have sporty looks even in their basic form. You’ve already seen and liked them in our previous devlog. They look like they are ready to hit the track. However, it’s just not enough sometimes. Or you just think the vehicle could look a bit cooler. Each car will have a couple of different sets of body parts, so you’ll have some choices when it comes to making your car look like you envision it. Bumpers, hoods, spoilers and such will be at your disposal. Once you get them, you’ll of course have to fit them yourself! Worry not, the process is usually pretty simple and takes only a few clicks.
How to get and install these parts
The game is going to feature a parts shop that you have already seen in the demo. In the upcoming versions of the game, the shop will be expanded compared to the currently available one. This could be said about the entirety of Rally Mechanic Simulator, but let’s not get sidetracked. Let’s say that you’ve just bought a new cool body parts. What you should do next? No need for anything too fancy - just walk up to the car, remove the old body panels and install the new ones. As simple as it gets! We also do realize some of the cars that we used as inspiration for the vehicles in the game have overly complex ways of installing body panels, but we didn’t replicate them. Who’d want to dismantle half of their car to install a side skirt, after all?
The performance aspect
Will the body parts influence the performance of the car? No, they won’t. Sure, they would do so in real life, especially considering things like weight, aerodynamics and cooling. At this point in time, though, we want to keep modification of bodywork a simple endeavor that will serve only the aesthetic purpose.
Go (almost) full Picasso
Another huge part of modifying the way a car looks is painting. This will be made available in Rally Mechanic Simulator as well. In the beginning, it will be just a painting area you’ll need to unlock. The capabilities will also be limited - one colour paint for the entire body. It is still pretty cool as most cars you’ve ever seen. Also, as sports cars often have decals and liveries, they are expected to make it into the game at some point in the future. Just imagine the possibilities!

This is it for today. We have some massive things in the works, so you can expect big news coming in the near future. Keep an eye out for them!
